A slew of stylish stars were in attendance at the Chanel 2014 Tribeca Film Festival Artist Dinner. Many of the night’s attendees went for glamour in pieces from the French fashion house’s collections, though more than a few missed the mark with looks that just didn’t translate well for such a high-fashion affair.
Let’s get into it!
Supermodel Joan Smalls kept it simple in a curve-hugging printed number, Tom Ford sandals, and fierce cobalt-rimmed eyes. Hot!
It was all about prints for Adepero Oduye in a refined multi-hued A-line Busayo frock. I hope this means she’ll be wearing the brand on the red carpet soon!
Hannah Bronfman gave a modern edge to a Victorian-inspired lace blouse with leather pants, alongside her incredibly good-looking boyfriend. They’re a fantastic looking couple!
Journalist, author, and screenwriter Rula Jebreal is always one of my most beautiful people and she showed off her model-esque frame in a structured croc-embossed dress and snakeskin platform sandals.
I’m always impressed with Michael K. Williams’s outfit choices, but his look here was a bit disappointing.
For the second time this week Katie Nehra has slayed in the style department! Her stripe textured mini dress, cassette tape-inspired clutch, and $895 Christian Louboutin Athena Sandals were totally on point.
I’m hopelessly enamored with Giovanna Battaglia’s style and she did not disappoint in a multicolored sleeveless vest and neon zip-front frock. Her printed leather shoulder bag from the French fashion house was also an absolute beauty.
Lily Aldridge sported an embellished sheer overlay gown for the night. I’m fairly certain that she could make anything look chic.
Harley Viera-Newton consistently wins when it comes to her fashion choices and she continued her reign in a short-sleeve tweed shirt dress and tweed bag from the brand.
It’s been awhile since I’ve seen Jen Brill out and about, thus I was thrilled to see her capturing the crop top trend in a lace midriff-baring number, printed cardigan thrown over her shoulders, leather high-waist shorts, and cutout black patent leather sandals. The ensemble was a bit much for my taste, but I wouldn’t have expected anything less from a high-fashion lover like Ms. Brill.
Drena De Niro showed us all that an expertly-tailored suit is perfect for any occasion.
Hilary Rhoda gave her white embroidered gown a pop of color with red lips.
I’m usually on board with whatever Julia Restoin-Roitfeld choose to wear, but her white satin pleated and embroidered dress skewed matronly. Her black leather accessories didn’t help in lightening up the mood of the look.
Leigh Lezark was another fashionista whose ‘fit threw me for a loop! Her style of dress silhouette wasn’t particularly flattering and the pared-down black accessories weren’t the best complements. This getup called for lighter accoutrements — perhaps come classic Chanel pearls and white embellished pointed-toe pumps.
Icon Sophia Loren showed everyone what it means to have ageless style and beauty in a navy embellished tunic and black wide-leg trousers, on the arm of producer Edoardo Ponti. Isn’t she just fabulous?
Whose look impressed you at the dinner?
