Gisele H&M Summer 2014

• H&M‘s once again tapped Gisele Bundchen to front their summer campaign. But Ms. Bundchen isn’t just posing for pictures this time around. Taking a cue from a certain other multi-talented H&M campaign star, Gisele’s recorded a cover of Blondie‘s “Heart of Glass” with DJ Bob Sinclair. You won’t be able to hear the tune until May, when the ads officially launch. How do you imagine Gisele did on the mic? (WWD)

 

Elin Kling

• The latest blogger to enter the design world is Elin Kling, who just announced the May 5th launch of her new line, Totême. The label will offer luxurious casual wear for women inspired by “European vacations, resorts and the elegant ’70s.” I like the sound of that! ”I wanted to create a brand that challenges my own style,” Kling said. “The design of Totême is based on a woman perfectly relaxed yet chic during her leisure time. It’s all about her attitude and how that is reflected in her style.” Prices are pretty steep, averaging around $350, but for the woman Kling is describing, I’d wager that’s just a drop in the bucket. Cosmo Subscribet Cover May 2014

• Cosmopolitan‘s May 2014 cover could either really annoy readers, or launch a new trend in magazine advertising. This month’s subscriber issue has a peel-away cover sponsored by L’Oreal, featuring model Robyn Lawley. The cover’s got a series of taglines, and opens up into a one-page ad for the brand’s “silkissime” mascara. So, who’s this month’s upstaged cover girl? Big Bang Theory‘s Kelly Cuoco Sweeting. Apparently, the sponsored cover was also designed by the Cosmo team, with the exception of the tagline announcing a L’Oreal contest. “It’s a bit like the white flap on The New Yorker,” editor-in-chief Joanna Coles told WWD“It gives me twice the real estate to explain what’s in the magazine. It’s not purely an ad. I suspect we’ve unleashed a trend.” Hmm… I kind of hope not. What do you think, guys, are you into seeing more product-placed magazine covers? (WWD)

 

Man About Town Brooklyn Beckham

• When you’re blessed with DNA from Victoria and David Beckham, it’s only right that you’d be asked to flaunt your beauty for some fashion-related magazine or brand. Romeo Beckham, David’s mini-me has already appeared in ads for Burberry, and now, his oldest brother Brooklyn is on the cover of Man About Town magazine–although one could hardly call a privileged 15-year-old boy still going to school and living with his parents a “man.” But no matter! He can definitely brood like one! What do you think of the shot? (Daily Mail)

 

Freja Beha Erichsen Zadig & Voltaire

• Danish model Freja Beha Erichsen‘s taking a second turn at designing, this time releasing a collection with Zadig & Voltaire. She’s modeled for them in the past, but Erichsen cut her design teeth last September by launching a collection she created in collaboration with denim brand Mother. This collection’s got the model’s signature rocker-tomboy style. Expect lots of slouchy tees and the standout–a cool leather moto jacket. Proceeds from the collection will benefit Doctors Without Borders, which will receive 40% of sales. (Vogue UK)
