The Fashion Bomb News Breakdown: L’Wren Scott Planned to Close Her Label, Lululemon’s New Line Lets You Wear Your Gym Clothes Out on The Town, and Kate Hudson to Release LBD Capsule for Ann Taylor

L'Wren Scott

Cathy Horyn is the latest of the fashion set to pen a tribute to the late L’Wren Scott. In the moving New York Times obit, Horyn speaks fondly of her friend, but also provides some insight into what was going on with Scott’s label towards the end of her life. L’Wren cancelled her Fall 2014 show this season, citing production problems as the reason for skipping. But, according to Horyn, it turns out that Scott was planning on shutting down her label altogether, and would have announced it today. “Still, as painful as the decision must have been for her,” she added, “I wouldn’t draw any conclusions from it about her state of mind.” (NYT)

Ann Taylor just got a little more chic. Kate Hudson has teamed up with the brand’s creative director to create a capsule collection of LBD’s . The five-piece collection is designed to “fit how we all live,” according to Hudson, and will hit stores April 10th. (WWD)

&go tank lululemon

Lululemon‘s developed a new line that allows you to go straight from the gym to real life. &go is a collection of athletic wear that’s functional enough for a run on the treadmill, but stylish enough to wear to meet your homegirls at the bar directly after. “You don’t have time for a wardrobe that that keeps forcing you to change,” says the collections’ creators, but really: who is going to want to stay in their stinky, sweaty clothes after going hard in the gym? At any rate, prices range from $54 for a top to $198 for a dress, which you can pick up now at Lululemon. What do you think, guys, would you wear this to a dinner date after a workout sesh?
