The Fashion Bomb News Breakdown: Naomi Campbell Thinks Kimye’s Vogue Cover is Hilarious, The Surprising Twist in Dolce & Gabbana’s Appeals Case, and L’Wren Scott’s Funeral Attended by Family, Loved Ones
By The Fashion Bomb Staff

SHADE • Possibly the greatest reaction to Kim & Kanye‘s Vogue cover comes from Naomi Campbell. When asked for her thoughts during an interview on Australia’s The Morning Show, the legendary supermodel replied, “I do not want to comment on that,” before breaking into a fit of the shadiest laughter the world’s ever heard. I guess there’s someone who doesn’t want to talk about #theworldsmosttalkedaboutcouple.

“I’m a fashion model,” she continued, “I’ve been working for 28 years and when you get a Vogue cover, it’s a build in your career, it’s a stepping stone to achieve that.” When her interviewer, hostess Kylie Gillie, pressed the issue, asking if she thought the couple didn’t deserve the honor, Naomi quickly diverted. “I’m being politically correct. That’s Anna Wintour’s choice to put them on the cover of her magazine, who’s to question it?” Oooh, gurl! Kanye, your move! (YouTube)

• Haven’t heard enough talk about Kimye’s Vogue cover? Of course not! Kimmy dished a little more about the now-infamous shoot last night on Late Night With Seth Meyers, answering all our burning questions about the spread. Here’s what we found out:

– Her sisters didn’t even know it was going down.
Hamish Bowles and Grace Coddington had to wear disguises in order to keep the shoot under wraps.
– She had a “top secret” meeting with Sarah Burton in London to get fitted for that feathery Alexander McQueen dress she’s wearing in the spread.
North West peed on Kanye during one of the shots. “He was trying to tell me and I couldn’t really hear him,” she said. “I had to get up and clean her off, clean him off. It’s a good memory.”
– Kim didn’t know she was going to make the cover.

Don’t you feel so much better now that you have all that information? Watch the interview above! (Fashionista)

domenico-dolce-stefano-gabbana- • The Dolce& Gabbana tax evasion case has taken an unexpected turn in appeals. Last June, the pair was sentenced to a year and eight months in prison plus legal fees, along with their accountant Luciano Patelli. Now, the prosecutor in their appeals hearings,  Gaetano Santamaria is calling the original case “groundless,” and is pushingfor the acquittal of Dolce & Gabbana. According to Santamaria, “creative minds” like theirs are “totally taken by their models, their fabrics and events… I just don’t see them dealing with bills and schemes to cut their tax rate,” adding that the act of selling their label to Luxembourg-based company Gado Srl wasn’t illegal. “As per the Cassazione [Italy’s equivalent of the Supreme Court] and the European Community, there is no regulation that forbids such a restructuring, nor the choice of a country, according to the free circulation of capitals in the market. These are sacred principles.” He continued, “They choose the Bourse in Luxembourg because it is the most vivacious in Europe, because its fiscal legislation attracts capitals, it has an efficient public administration and, yes, it offers fiscal benefits but it is legitimate to optimize them.” He asserted that it can’t be proven that the sale of Dolce &Gabbana to Gado was executed in order to avoid taxes. “When I heard that they [the designers] had been condemned to a year and a half, I thought, ‘Wow, they must have really done something serious.’”, Santamaria said. “But then I realized that they did not actually manage the company, they signed the deals because they were the owners, but never actively intervened.” (WWD)

Michelle Obama Black Nail Polish
• Kiehl’s is releasing a new nail lacquer this summer, and the color is decidedly un-summery. You won’t find any neons or corals here: the new shade is a glossy black, and the proceeds will benefit AmfAR. The color is inspired by Kiehls’ annual LifeRide motorcycle trip, which raises money for the charity, and HIV awareness. The polish will set you back $15-$18 bucks, and will be available in late July. (WWD)

L'Wren Scott • L’Wren Scott‘s funeral was held yesterday in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Forever Funeral Home, attended by Scott’s close family and friends. Scott’s people released a statement today detailing the funeral proceedings, whose guests included Mick and Georgia May Jagger, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, Bryan Adams, and more. “The service with blessings and prayers led by Reverend Ed Bacon (All Saints Church in Pasadena, California) included memories and words of tribute from Mick Jagger, her brother, Randy Bambrough, Justinian Kfoury, Ira M. Hammons-Glass and Adam Glassman,” the statement reads. “Poems were shared by Jagger’s daughter Karis, as well as Ellen Barkin. Mick’s daughter Jade read Psalm 139, and his grandchildren, Mazie and Zak, read Psalm 23. Randy’s daughter, Hannah, read Shakespeare Sonnet 18.” May she rest in peace. (Vogue UK)

I’m sure Kanye will assert that Kim can out-model Naomi after this. *insert Naomi’s laugh here*
    Lol smh.

  2. Giselle Williams-Thomas says:

    Oooh chirl!!! I can’t with Naomi’s #PalmTrees LOL

  3. mimi says:

Naomi is just a bitter jealous old woman without a husband or child, I don’t expect anything from her other than anger and bitterness.

  4. T1K says:

^^^^ well damn! I thought she was entitled to her opinion too! Anywho I don’t feel any type of way about the cover since I mostly read it while grocery shopping or standing in line to check out lol!

  5. fly won says:

“I felt like Carrie Bradshaw when she was shooting for Vogue” well LET’S JUST HOPE YOU ARENT LEFT AT THE ALTER WHEN THIS IS ON NEWSTANDS…like Carrie Bradshaw

  6. Jihan says:

Just to interject in my own post– I friggin’ LOVE that laughing Naomi .gif!!!

  7. Indigo says:

Kim is not looking good… I’m not a part of Vogue’s politics, but I’m sorry, the cover looks unpolished.

  8. Giselle Williams-Thomas says:

The gif is the best ever!

  9. binky says:

na na is hilarious ! lol that laugh said it all lmaoooo #theshadeeeeee

  10. Kytha says:

Naomi Campbell is one of the world’s most successful supermodels. She earned each and every one of her vogue covers with hard work. Kim Kardashian cannot act, is not a model and has no talent other than what she can do on her back. If Naomi Campbell is laughing that Kim’s cooka got Kanye to beg Anna Wintour for a cover, she has that right. And I am here for it.

  11. KayGee Rox says:

Queen of the Shadest of Shades!! I need that laugh as a ringtone.

  12. yonaton says:

great interview! i actually like it and thought it was real fun. good stuff!

  13. Why does it matter says:

I know I’m the only who think this kinda sad ….this was immature why do you care if kim. Grace the cover that doesn’t take away your strips ..or your achievement ….. Personally it’s nice to see someone else on the cover for once .yes Naomi can model but you have issues too….and kim is probably laughing back she’s worth more than you

  14. Why does it matter says:

P.s classy is never throwing someone else under the bus

  15. SMV says:

i don’t buy Vogue, even if i wanted to its just full of ads and i have no valid opinion on this matter. but the fashion world(vogue readers) ARE NOT happy with this..eeek.

  16. missy says:

naomi did nothing wrng, she was asled a question, laughed and said no comment. this cover is a slap in the face for the many models who, actresses, and so forth who works hard and their work is noticed. kim hasnt done ish to contribute to society, she’s not an actress, model, entertainer nothing. she just sold her soul for fame and these are the benefits of that. its sad because as bad as she wanted that cover by herself, she had to share it with her token black girlfriend kenya. say what you may about naomi, she was politically correct in her answer and said nothing that other folks wern’t thinking

  17. Nakia P says:

There are some extremely delusional folk on this blog. Naomi was asked a question and she didn’t say anything ignorant, the shade was from the interviewer.
Secondly to all the basic girls with the Kim is worth more, first Naomi has a crazy legacy, and her money will last her and she can be proud of how she earned her money. But riddle me this there are many porn stars who have millions does that make them worth more? There are lots of people in porn, narcotics, and other lascivious living that have more money than others but there moral worth is bankrupt.

  18. Why does it matter says:

Because I said my opinion don’t make me basic…I just don’t get the big deal if it’s not effecting you then don’t worry about it ….if thought its Funny how you said morals but is morally correct to pose nude . I love fashion but Naomi show nudity before…it’s okay because it’s art or fashion .how is nudity different from porn…both sold there bodies to be where there are .. Does that make her worth more as well?her legacy also pertains to her throwing blackberry or a temper…I like Naomi but no….judge and be judge…she knew what question she was going to be asked.

  19. Neeks says:

    @Why Does It Matter:

You are absolutely entitled to your opinion dear, but please do not say Naomi sold her body to be where she is. She has worked extremely hard over the years (and yes that is including some nude photo-shoots like most models), and her success cannot, *absolutely cannot* be compared with someone who is only known because of a “leaked” sex tape.

You cannot blame Naomi for laughing, she gave the most respectable answer she could possibly give. The shade was inevitable.

  20. Ilo says:

I don’t read vogue because I always felt it was overrated but I will say I feel the same about kim which makes me understand why she made the cover. Like charlamagne said the best remedy for the most talked about couple is to not talk about them or get engaged

  21. Why does it matter says:

@ neke I understand ….I dont blame her for laughing I’m annoyed she indulge in the media stupidity . I’m aware she works hard but being naked for commerical purpose for fashion is selling your body , one can convinced me other wise…i don’t like kim I just think everybody has a past and shouldn’t shun for certain opportunity because of it…..

  22. Why does it matter says:

  23. A says:

Hah! I agree with Naomi I don’t think Kim deserved to be on the cover of Vogue.

  24. Nakia P says:

    @ why does it matter
My apologies at the basic comment, I didn’t mean it that way towards your posts, everytime someone throws shade at the kardashians people reference their bank account. I was merely saying there are a lot of people with big bank accounts that have done some shameful things to get that money.
But I don’t know how in an interview about her show the Face, naomi “knew” she would be randomly asked about a vogue cover.

  25. Feel sad for the baby says:

Poor baby looked like she has no clue who the people in the photo parental bonds whatsoever.

Kim will always be referred to in a certain manner, the backlash will never stop and acceptance can’t be purchased.

Clothes don’t look good on her, fashion she is not and talented uhmm never.

  26. bloop says:

Are Kim Kardashian fans consciously aware that they only and I mean ONLY like her because she’s pretty. She’s not funny, intelligent, witty, talented, self-sufficient, or an active contributor to anything that causes joy in the public’s life (i.e. philanthropist, activitist, entertainer, etc). It’s super sad how our society rewards people for things that don’t matter like a cute face.

  27. Martinique_Fr says:

In today’s society, “Reality Stars” are more popular than so called super models and thespians alike, and this irritate the living daylight out of them.

Whenever Kim K. is mentioned ANYWHERE, she garners way more responses than anyone else… whether good or bad, she’s good for business.

I hear people talk about the “Vogue Brand” being tarnished… well if Vogue goes under … what brand?

  28. Hmmmmm says:

@Missy “its sad because as bad as she wanted that cover by herself, she had to share it with her token black girlfriend kenya.” LMAOOOOOOO… Kim & her black girlfriend Kanye.

  29. Anonymous says:

Ohhhhh Naomi…how I love thee. Love her

  30. Terra says:

@Hmmmmmm you just killed me haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  31. makeeasweet says:

Go head Kim&kanye,People going keep on hating no matter what LMAO.The fact that so many people are rooting for their downfall is so pathetic. It say alot about your own character when you get mad at someone else success.Always whining she dont deserve this or that beacuse of crap that happen years ago… But the chick stay wining, keep these heffas mad Kim.

  32. WILDFLOWER ELO says:

Naomi aint Mad and she aint bein no hater. she being real.
Shes been on that cover many times so it aint like She speaking out of terms. I am Still happy for Kimye but we all know there was alotta bumsy licking that had to go down for this one lol. CHEERS!

  33. Jessy says:

I think Kim stans are more delusional than Bey fans lol. Kim offers nothing to society and is still not respected almost a decade later–because she has yet to do something of worth.

  34. JT says:

I can’t believe Dolce & Gabbana might walk free. How stupid is the judge that falls for this doe-eyed innocent routine. You mean to tell me you avoided paying the government hundreds of millions of dollars and it was all a mistake because you’re too much of an air-head to look at your own bills! Their lawyer essentially said designers don’t pay attention to their business but purely the art of making clothes. News flash, fashion is and always will be a business and you cannot become a top designer without having some concept of what you spend and what you earn. These 2 Italians were interested in the art of making MONEY Queens please! I am so sick of seeing the same old story of white people not taking responsibility for accumulating wealth illegally!!! If it was Oprah or some black business mogul they would have locked her up and thrown away the key!

  35. JT says:

Jessy, who the heck are you to judge what Kim has done of ‘worth’? Kim is a wife, mother, business woman, model, designer, reality TV star, and makes more money than anyone of us. Most celebrities do not do things of substance that last 50 years into the future because they are CELEBRITIES; they are public citizens who capitalize on the popularity of the moment so you cannot pick on Kim for being successful at what she does. I’ll take a million Kim’s or one Miley Cyrus!
