Whether you believe it or not, spring is on its way, and it’s high time you start shopping for new threads. Skirts, crop tops, rompers, sundresses–they’re all on our lists for next season. We’ll be making our rounds at Bloomingdale‘s, Topshop, and Zara, but if you’re the sort of person who likes to support local, independent designers, you’ll want to check out the wares at Pistolette New York.
The line is designed in Brooklyn by Midwest transplant Elissa French, who immediately moved to NYC after getting her degree in fashion design in Chicago. Pistolette is her very first line, and it’s perfect for any girl who is a fan of easy dressing.
When warm weather comes around, you just want to slip into a piece and look fabulous. This black ‘Devi’ romper with a draped back? Slip in. look fabulous. Enjoy your life.
You will find draped skirts, cropped tops, maxi skirts, and flirty rompers–all easy to put on, all in an assortment of season-perfect colors, patterns, and materials. The pieces are rendered in nylon and cotton mostly, with spots of colorful leather and lace here and there.
My personal favorite look? A cloud-printed crop top and skirt set (pictured above), which would be a cute ensemble for a picnic in the park.
Prices range from $29 for a bandeau top to $181 for a broadcloth Script print dress. Right now, Pistolette’s Spring 2014 collection is available for Pre-Order, and Elissa will throw in a free bandeau top for all Pre-orders over $50 if you use the promo code “Twist Top” at checkout.
