Some designers like to experiment each season, revamping their signature aesthetic with a whole new set of trends and details. Anthony Vaccarello isn’t among that group, as he knows what works for his brand and the throngs of stylish women around the globe who love it: I mean why break something that doesn’t need fixing, especially if it’s done quite well? For his Fall 2014 collection, he stuck to his sultry blend of leg-baring dresses and expert tailoring.
Like Pucci in Milan, Vaccarello encouraged the wearers of his scantily-clad designs to keep warm with plush outerwear. In many ways, the collection’s shearling coats, round shoulder jackets with zipper detailing, and leather moto jackets stole the show as silhouettes of that ilk are known to do for Fall.
Nothing emits “sexy” better than leather, thus the edgy texture made an appearance on knit collar turtlenecks doused with animal print-patterned embellishment, other simple button-front shirts in fiery red patent, shirt dresses with swiss dot underlayers and ruffle trim, and barely-there mini skirts.
A whole host of supermodels will be spotted in the lineup’s more sensuous looks, along with Ciara (post-pregnancy of course) and Kelly Rowland. A strapless cutout mini dress with a red patent ruffle will look killer with CiCi’s mile-long legs, while a one-shoulder zip-front number with the same flirty detail will be just the thing for Ms. Rowland’s high-fashion proclivities.
