The bandage dress is Hervé Léger’s signature and the brand is not straying from that for its Fall 2014 collection. Brimming with the curve-hugging silhouette, Lubov Azria finds new ways to give the classic a new spin with pleat detailing, longer hemlines, cage belts, and cutouts sliced down to there: there being the models’s belly buttons. The lineup isn’t a study in functionality (as Léger designs rarely are), but the looks are definitely high in unabashed sex appeal which is driven home with peep-toe knee high boots anchoring the ensembles.
Cage corset detailing and belts take fit-and-flare dresses to the boudoir, while simultaneously adding a modern edge.
Outerwear toughens up the sexy looks with oversized biker vests, shaggy fur sleeves, and animal printed insets on cozy coats.
Car wash-inspired hems languidly fall from figure-skimming frocks. They make for sensory overload when juxtaposed against the ensembles’ cutout detailing, sometimes dipping as low as the belly button.
Metallic beading segues the collection into eveningwear, adorning rounded-shoulder tops that are slightly nipped at the waist to accentuate the female form, pencil skirts hitting just below the knee, a white collarless jacket, and dresses that ease up on the body-conscious silhouettes for looser fitting shapes.
I expect to see fans of the brand like Mary J. Blige, Miranda Kerr, and Katy Perry in the collection’s showstopping frocks, boasting zipper detailing, embellishment, and illusion insets. There is also absolutely no doubt that a cutout jumpsuit is meant for the catsuit queen, Ms. Nicki Minaj.
Which looks in Hervé Léger’s latest collection were a knock out for you?
