Australian brand Zimmermann is known for its vibrant prints and romantic silhouettes, but the brand went a bit darker for Fall with loads of lace, a moody palette, and aubergine lips as a finishing touch.
Brains behind the brand Nicky and Simone Zimmermann pulled inspiration from the Beatniks and Teddy Girls: two distinct movements of the 50′s and 60′s that were as important for style as they were for American and British culture. This influence meant a collection full of styles that effortlessly blended naughty peeks of skin with pleasant silhouettes, and statement-making volume with menswear-inspired footwear. All of this was topped off by sleek hair and powerful brows.
The brand’s signature prints were in abundance from muted animal prints to Fall-perfect houndstooth. When paired with sporty chic red mesh separates, the retro-inspired silhouettes were automatically cemented in modernity.
I have a penchant for trousers thus the array of jumpsuits and pants on display were just my speed. An off-the-shoulder one-piece number will be timeless in any woman’s wardrobe, while the endless supply of flared blouses paired with cropped trousers are easy ensembles for both work and play.
Ashley Madekwe and Katy Perry are avid fans of the brand and I can definitely see both stylish ladies in some of the collection’s fancier attire. An off-the-shoulder jade dress with a low-cut neckline will look killer with the runway’s dark lip and a pair of patent strappy sandals in the same shade, while a cutout dress with a pleated skirt effortlessly fuses that juxtaposition of sexy and coquettish that so many opt for when it comes to stylish soirées.
What do you think of Zimmermann’s Fall lineup?
