Last night, I popped by the Empire Hotel rooftop for the unveiling of Gain’s first ever single-use detergent, Gain Flings! The company tapped the beautiful Braxton sisters to host the event, which included an exclusive performance by Toni Braxton herself.
Aside from smelling Gain’s new product (which was fantastic!), I also took a moment to ask the sisters a few questions, culled from your queries on Facebook and Instagram.
Chitara from Facebook asked, “What diet tips do they have….?”
Trina offered, “Water is the secret. If you drink half your weight in ounces of water, the weight is sure to fall off no matter what you do.” Traci added, “Exercise. Lot of calisthenics. Working out.” Towanda focuses on diet, and said, “I love vegetables. I think that’s the thing that balances my freak of nature!” Traci cosigned, “She’s extremely regular. You have to make sure that you’re regular.” Hilarious.
Our very own Cliché had a question! She wrote, “Can ask about their hair care? I mean they all wear wigs, maybe you can ask what do they do to protect their own hair. Do they have any tips about taking care of your hair under the wigs?”
Towanda divulged, “We use something that’s called Simplicity Oil. It helps our edges. We wear so many wigs and weaves, and we want to change our hair constantly.”
You might be surprised to know that the ladies are natural underneath their wigs. But in response to whether or not we’ll ever see their natural hair, they all responded with a resounding “No!” Ok!
I then sidled up to new Mommy, Tamar, who was poppin in a BCBG Max Azria Green Cutout Shea Dress!
How does she stay so fly as a new Mommy on the go? The Grammy nominated songstress said, “You gotta have time to your self. And do all things I would normally do. My sisters told me that. I have my ‘me’ time.” I also asked her secret to snapping back so quickly after having her baby. She offered, “I had to break up with food. That’s all I had when I was pregnant. We had to depart from each other.” But that said, she confessed, “Being a mom is the best thing that ever happened to me.” It suits her!
And lastly, I chatted with Madame Toni!
A lot of you asked her about her beauty secrets, but it seems she doesn’t have any! She said, “I have really good genes. A very good makeup artist. And chunky cheeks!”
And then we talked about her recent wardrobe malfunction! She said, “I wanted to die. [Unfortunately], that wasn’t an option. It happens. There can be 10,000 [people] in the audience, but millions see it. My sisters should’ve helped me! I was disappointed that they just stood there. [But] I made a joke of it.”
And though she was wearing Reco Chapple for her infamous performance, she said her favorite designers include, “Chanel, Marc Bouwer, and Alexander McQueen.” There you have it!
Afterwards, we were treated to a fun performance:
And I grabbed quick pix with Vincent Herbert, who was there to support wifey Tamar.
And socialite Hannah Bronfman, who DJ’ed the festivities in a Clover Canyon top and J Brand jeans.
Someone on Instagram suggested we do a Closet Confessions video with her. Sounds like a fab idea!
At any rate, learn more about Gain Flings here, and search the hashtag #MusicToYourNose to see even more pix from the night.
