Ulyana Seergenko’s Spring 2014 Couture collection is made for the high-fashion jetsetter who has a penchant for all things boudoir. Her land-hopping is reduced to Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan here, but her wardrobe is not at all limited: chock full of seductive garments that emit both charm and a bit of danger.
Multicolor stripes give a bold, yet pajama-influenced feel to the lineup, covering robe-inspired frocks with hook-and-eye closures and beaded fringe hanging languidly from the pockets, cropped trousers that peek out from beneath bustle-accented designs and silk coats, and flower-embroidered numbers that beam Spring.
Trousers anchor the collection in functionality which is a rare feat for Couture offerings. Silky one-pieces punctuate the selection with ease, while flirty fringe places emphasis on the hips of skirted, wide-leg trousers: perfect for shimmying and shaking.
Beyoncé, Zhang Zuqi, and Rita Ora opted for the brand’s wares in 2013 and they will definitely fall in love with this year’s red carpet worthy looks. I’m not certain if anyone will have the courage to don the collection’s larger than life, puff-bottom gowns that read like the most high-fashion comforters ever, but any lady who does will surely have all eyes on her.
What do you think of the latest from Ulyana Sergeenko?
