Show Review: Givenchy Fall 2014 Menswear
By The Fashion Bomb Staff

Every season our eyes, as well as those of the celeb set, are firmly set on the Givenchy runway. In recent years, creative director Riccardo Tisci has amassed an undeniable celebrity with a number of iconic designs. With his latest menswear offering, he is looking to score big time yet again.

Givenchy-Fall-2014-MenswearTisci cited “Basketball and Bauhaus” as the inspirations for the wares; a hard to miss motif as models sauntered down the runway in net veils and basketball court inspired garments.

Givenchy-Menswear-Fall-2014-40The collection took an artful turn when colorful abstract printed pieces were revealed. The bright and vivid hues made shirts and coats appear to have been freshly grazed with a paintbrush.

Givenchy-Menswear-Fall-2014-14Also of note: the usage of belted fur and loose tailoring. Could the baggy pants be ushering in a more laid back era? Only time will tell. One thing felt certain, it was an aesthetic treat on the runway.

Givenchy-Menswear-Fall-2014-24All in all, it was a solid showing for Givenchy. I’m sure brand lovers Kanye West, Lebron James, Kevin Hart, and just about every other hip-hop heavyweight will be clamoring to get their hands on the latest designs. I’d personally like to see Joan Smalls, Ciara, and Rihanna rocking a few of these items.

What do you think? Are you loving Givenchy’s Fall 2014 Menswear collection?

I am not impressed. There is absolutely nothing in this collection that’s unique or that has the ability to transition.
What I mean by transition: work-weekend transition and seasonal transition. I dislike fad collections.

There were a few hot pieces

  3. above-par says:

I’m all here for artists drawing inspiration from objects, but the overt presence of basketballs and the netting being reminiscent of hoops is a bit ghetto.

    …it’s Ghetto Chic.

Just a unique collection of the men wear means the dressing sense and the clothes are just unique and trendy . All the dresses will impart a smarty look to the boys and men.

  5. Nice style looking very stylish

  6. Jbrizzy says:

This collection was some BS to be honest

  7. Lola Reggy says:

I am saying No, no, no, nooooo

@Above-par Im not sure how you connected ghetto to this line, but yes it is kinda ugly in my opinion. I feel like it would be a line for 7 year old boys’ bed sheets.
