The Fashion Bomb News Breakdown: Ciara is Pregnant, Beyoncé Bemoans Gender Inequality in Shriver Report Essay, and Lupita Nyong’o to be Honored at ESSENCE Women in Hollywood Luncheon
By The Fashion Bomb Staff

Ciara has finally admitted what we all suspected months ago: she’s pregnant. The singer confirmed her pregnancy on The View this morning. Congratulations to her and Future! Check out the big reveal above. (Necole Bitchie)

Lanvin is celebrating its 125th anniversary by opening up the archives to the masses, and revealing never-before-seen images from the house’s illustrious history via Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram. Every Thursday, Lanvin will release a new image or video via their social media outlets. (WWD)

• We can always expect a lot of fur in a Fendi collection, but the Italian fashion house took things to the next level at their men’s Fall 2014 shows by having their models strut down a runway made entirely of goat fur. (WWD)

• Who run the world? Definitely not girls, according to a Shriver Report essay by Beyoncé Knowles. The singer penned a short epistle on gender inequality, declaring it a myth, and calling for a greater commitment to equal pay between men and women in the workforce. Right now, women make 77 cents to every dollar a man makes. “Humanity requires both men and women, and we are equally important and need one another. So why are we viewed as less than equal,” she writes. “These old attitudes are drilled into us from the very beginning. We have to teach our boys the rules of equality and respect, so that as they grow up, gender equality becomes a natural way of life. And we have to teach our girls that they can reach as high as humanly possible… Women are more than 50 percent of the population and more than 50 percent of voters. We must demand that we all receive 100 percent of the opportunities.” Preach! (The Shriver Report)

ESSENCE magazine will honor the beautiful Lupita Nyong’o at their 2014 Black Women in Hollywood luncheon for her role in 12 Years A Slave,  general awesomeness, and overall perfection. (USA Today)

What’s up with all these celeb babies born out of wedlock?

  4. kat says:

What’s up with all the non-celeb babies born out of wedlock?

  5. Monica says:

Word, Kat. Although wedlock isn’t much of a factor to me as long as it’s a long-term, committed, loving relationship. Wed or not, that’s the best environment to raise a child.

    Lupita is gorgeous.

  6. Lupita is a walking 187 she is what Beyonce was talking about when she said “I Woke Up Like Dis”….

Congrats to Ciara and Future I hope she has a healthy baby. Her snapback is going to make these other celeb moms gag.

  7. Deedee says:

I guess discussing race inequality might mess with her money….I love beyonces music and worth ethic (I am a big fan) but with all the race issues that are front and center, her safe politicking on gender inequality is a transparent attempt to satisfy those calling her and jz out on their ostensible absence from the social justice podium. Gimme a break….let’s talk about gender inequality for black women. Let’s talk about just being a black women….better yet just acknowledge your a black woman. Have a few seats.
