1. Idris Elba
2013 was a good year for Idris Elba, as he landed a starring role in the Blockbuster film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom. He graced many the red carpet with co-star Naomie Harris by his side, stunning bystanders with their striking good looks.
Magazines like GQ and Esquire UK featured the fine British actor, who moonlights as a producer, singer, and a DJ.
He smiled his way into our sartorial hearts with a peppering of well tailored suits, pulled off with hyper masculine aplomb.
Though he sometimes deviated from his standard suit and tie fair with a punchy coat, he kept his looks classic and cultivated.
Can’t go wrong with a man in a suit! I’m wiping drool off my face. At any rate, see all of Idris’s looks from this year here.
The girls undoubtedly all let out a collective yelp of grief when Pharrell got hitched to Helen Lasichanh this October, though the fashion world still sings his praises, thanks to Mr. Williams’s out of the box aesthetic.
The mainstay on our best dressed list has a thing for Comme des Garcons, Lanvin, and BBC, and always adds his own singular sartorial twist to his ensembles.
Quirky, cool, and fun, he’s been featured in GQ UK and Vogue UK this year, and covered Complex Magazine’s Best of 2013 issue.
Aside from style, the year has been great sonically for Pharrell, as he produced two top hits with Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines and Daftpunk’s Get Lucky.
Fantastically stylish and forever fine, Pharrell pushes boundaries and pulls it off.
Take a look his year in review here.
3. A$AP Rocky
A$AP Rocky was wildy embraced by the stylish set this year, probably due to his chill attitude and self proclaimed ‘Pretty Boy‘ status.
The year saw him with features in Interview and GQ, as well as editorials with Mr. Porter and the Coveteur (where he famously said black girls can’t pull off red lipstick. Hmm… Ok.)
His verbal missteps didn’t make him any less attractive to the ladies, however! He picked up a super model girlfriend, Chanel Iman, and stayed glued to her hip from front rows at fashion shows to courtside basketball games.
Odd couplings aside, he kept his pairings neutral, focusing on blacks and whites, which invariably skewed chic.
See all his looks here.
4. Swizz Beatz
Swizz Beatz continued to get his grown man on this year, with an increasingly diverse selection of looks both casual and conservative.
He continued his creative pursuits with his collaboration with Reebok, and diversified his personal stash with sneaks by Givenchy and hard bottoms by Gucci.
He ended his year on a high note, curating a selection of holiday ready goods for FarFetch.com.
Get a fill of his fab here.
5. Scott Disick
We don’t cover ‘Lord Disick’ very much, but it certainly seems as if he should! The Kardashian Klan beau is known for his dapper garde robe, which took a casual turn for 2013.
He enlivens his looks with high priced accessories, ranging from bright cars to suede driving shoes.
Do you think we need for Disick on the Bomb? Leave a comment. Until then, see a handful of his looks here.
Leave it to yet another British bloke to make it onto our best dressed list! An assortment of suits are a must, but he always pushes the envelope in printed shirts and fly blazers, uplifted by chic accessories.
He severed ties with Nike, but aligned with Adidas for his latest line of sneaks, and is reportedly working on yet another collab with French brand A.P.C. after his first capsule of t-shirts and hoodies sold out swiftly.
No words on a revival of his clothing line, but we have a feeling 2014 will be even more ostentatious and audacious.
Review his looks and many newsworthy turns here.
