The Fashion Bomb News Breakdown: Retail Racial Profiling Task Force Pens NYC Shopper’s Bill of Rights, Mango Launches Plus-Size Line, and Rihanna Gets Some Fancy Christmas Gifts
By The Fashion Bomb Staff

• At least we can say some good has come of this Barneys-Macy’s racial profiling fiasco. Yesterday, a retail task force led by Al Sharpton drafted up a “Customers Bill of Rights,” which is expected to be posted in several retail locations and websites in NYC. According to WWD, the document reads,“Profiling is an unacceptable practice and will not be tolerated.”  The bill also “prohibits unreasonable searches and/or the profiling of customers by any employee,” and that those “who violate the company’s prohibition on profiling will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.” Also included is a provision on proper detainment: “A person may be detained only in a reasonable manner and for not more than a reasonable time to permit investigation or questioning, provided an authorized employee has reasonable grounds to believe that the person so detained was guilty of criminal possession of an antisecurity item or was committing or attempting to commit shoplifting on the premises.” Not all retailers are obligated to abide by these rules,  and there is no legal penalty for straying from the document. So far, only those stores included on the task force will be posting bill, although there is hope that others adopt this set of standards. (WWD)

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have been tapped to guest edit this upcoming issue of Entertainment Weekly. The hilarious duo penned a few pieces, like their must and “Bullseye” lists. They also chose the writers and features for this issue, including Fey’s friend and Mad Men star John Hamm, who penned a story on Ellie Kemper, who’s been cast in an fall sitcom created by Fey. The issue is set to hit newsstands on Friday. Will you be picking it up? (WWD)

Mango‘s launching a new plus-sized line, Violeta by Mango, offering trendy pieces for women sizes 8-20. The 400-piece collection will arrive in Turkey, Italy, France, The Netherlands, Germany, Russia, Spain, and online in the UK, with new items being added new month. Sadly, Violeta by Mango will not be available in the United States, where the average woman clocks in at a size 14. Hopefully the range will make it stateside soon!(Fashionista)

Lululemon founder Chip Wilson is stepping down as chairman of the athleticwear label. Wilson’s caused quite a stir months earlier, with his remarks that larger women’s thick thighs were the reason why their yoga pants became sheer and started pilling so quickly. He famously said, “even our small sizes would fit an extra-large. It’s more about the rubbing through the thighs, and how much you’re using it.” Wilson will officially leave the label in June 2014, to be succeeded by Michael Casey. Lululemon also announces a new CEO, Laurent Potdevin, who will replace Christine Day. (WWD, The Cut)

• Christmas came a little early for Rihanna, whose mailbox has been inundated with freebies from Prada, Stella McCartney, Rodarte, and more. The ‘Pour it Up’ singer posted snaps of all her goodies, which include custom tees from McQ, a hot pink clutch from Stella McCartney, and a purse, shoes, and sunnies from Prada and Miu Miu’s fall 2013 collections. Oh, to be famous! (Rihanna Instagram)
