Rozae Nichols traveled back in history for her latest collection for Clover Canyon Pre-Fall 2014, with a nod to ancient Greece and mythology. This season, she eschews neoprene for a variety of other textures, though the brand’s signature prints and crop tops are still in plentiful supply.
From its inset, Clover Canyon has had an athletic-inspired feel (thanks to that aforementioned neoprene) and though the brand is making some changes for the season, that signature is still at play. The bomber and track jacket are really having a moment for Pre-Fall and it’s shown here in a longer length with black and white striped sleeves and ancient Greek motif printed bodies. Some of the styles can even double as zip-front dresses, which might be quite chic with a pair of pointed-toe pumps, a sleek chignon, and bright lips.
Nichols aids her legion of fans in transitional dressing with the collection’s topper-shorts combinations. The shorts feature a skirted back: a definite salute to ancient Greek military wear, as well as a clear way to make sure your most prized assets are always stylishly covered.
When Clover Canyon released its first crop tops, stylish ladies latched on and still haven’t let go. The brand is giving all those women what they want and more with a slew of pieces in the midriff-baring silhouette in fun prints, bandeau styles, loose shapes, one shoulder forms, and with high-waist skirts to flatter the female figure no matter what the wearer’s shape and size.
The dresses offered up are just plain pretty. I’d love to see Danai Gurira, Solange Knowles, and Olivia Wilde continue their love for the brand next year at red carpet events in these frocks.
