I’d love a post on how to photograph great ootd/style photos. I’m so captivated by Claire’s ootd posts and some bombshells pictures. I’m new to the dslr world and have loved reading up elsewhere about capturing the great shot, which I think goes hand in hand with outfit presentation

  9. Denise says:

There is no such thing as trendy, let me say it again there is no such thing as trendy! Everything and I do mean everything in fashion is a revolving door. I can pull 10 things out of my mom’s closet right now and they would be in style even though she bought them 20-30 years ago! No one is original not a bad thing but everything that you could possibly think of doing fashion wise has already been done before. Fashion is simply rewashed every 10-15-20 years! How you rock it is what matters. In my opinion this girl does not look that different (except for her hair) from the girl we saw yesterday. Yesterday bombshell was not ground breaking to me, she simply wears her clothes nicely as such this young lady that is posted today. I just had to voice my opinion. I get tired of women saying someones to trendy or not trendy enough or not designer enough. News flash! Almost everything is made in china, japan, hong kong and korea sweat shops from these designers and mass retailers and can be bought on Ioffer and Aliexpress for 80% less and thats real.

I couldn’t agree with you more Denise! What you said is 100% real! :)

I could not agree with you more. I have wanted to express that for so long, I just decided to stop looking at bombshell of the day. I hate seeing people on here saying nothing new about any of it. Its just what looks attractive and fits one’s personality than another. It seems people expect Jesus or something. Each of these individuals that are chosen are bombshells in their own right. It isnt about trendy-ness. It is about fit, expression, and attitude. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea; that is not the point. It is to celebrate one another’s individuality. Okay, I am done, off my soapbox back to work (but secretly still trolling, LOL!)

Shout out to IOFFER and ALIEXPRESS tho!! LOL

  12. Denise, et al. I hear you’ll. But I kind of have another take on it as well. I think that when some people say “too trendy” they are really talking about the lack of originality. I think this young lady looks pretty well put together, however, there is nothing new to see here. You can almost name all of the stores she shops in and you can predict how she is going to pair this skirt with that top, etc. The reality is that most black girl bloggers aren’t well versed in style and not just all shop at the same large retailers (H&M, Zara, F21, etc…) but they pull the outfits together in similar ways. There are some standouts for sure, both have been bombshells before. The sister from Be Loud Be You and the sister from The Werk Place are outstanding examples of how to mix high end pieces with large retailer pieces and throw some vintage pieces in the mix and really exhibit – STYLE. To your point Denise, I have things from HS (in the 90s) that my daughter just drools over bc they are on trend again right now. However, everyone isn’t going to pull those items together in the same way. What makes a number of these bombshells boring or just “ok” is the lack of pizazz or individual style. There is no signature or thing that makes them stand out from the rest. Addicted to Etsy has amazing style to me – but she is young. You will see that evolve nicely as she gets older and moves away from some of the trendier items. Claire has amazing style bc she has an eye for quality and she is ALWAYS polished. She can wear a trendy item and balance it with a high end item and your eyes will be drawn to her from head to toe and into how she pulled it together bc it’s so, so polished. I enjoy this post daily bc (outside of the catty, unporductive posts) its always refreshing to see people’s efforts and comments. I’m moving from observer to contributor so I’m learning more and more daily!

  13. I take that back. Addicted to Etsy will surely evolve, but she is already pretty damn stellar! I don’t want that to be misconstrued. I think the fact that she is “addicted to etsy” alone is a win!

  14. Thank you Claire for the fabulous feature, I really appreciate it and thank you everyone for your comments. TL. Xx

I loved ALL of her looks. A real Bombshell…head to toe!

  16. ... says:

there’s nothing new in fashion, but there are still things that would be described as currently “on trend.” Hence the runway and “how do you rock it” posts on FBD.

  17. Lili says:

Aliexpress is great, but be sure to be aware of sizing. The fit models over there are teeny tiny.

  18. Jack says:

… its ok. I see potential but everything looks so cheap. invest in some quality pieces and tone it down just a notch.
