It’s the weekend, y’all! But before we obsess about the countdown to 5 PM, let’s take a gander at a few of our fave celebs who took part in this year’s Halloween festivities. A few took the simplistic route, while others planned their costumes down to the T.
Without further ado, let’s go!
First up is Beyoncé, who obviously gathered inspiration from her song, “Halo” for this year’s get up. King Bey dressed up as an angel (wings and halo in tow) and blew kisses to the camera. Is it just me, or is there somewhat of a heavenly glow in this snapshot? Maybe it’s just “Valencia.”
Lala Anthony and Amber Ridinger (Loren Ridinger’s daughter) posed together for a cute pic. Amber’s a mouse (duh) #meangirlsreference, and Lala added a touch of romanticism to her look with a pair of lace cat ears and a lace mask. Very simple, but sweet, nonetheless.
Lala’s bestie, Kelly Rowland, also extended the ubiquitous animal ear motif as she went as a bunny. But get into her pal, E.J. King, in his Sheneneh Jenkins ensemble! Here for it!
Keri Hilson and her boo Serge Ibaka went as Lisa McDowell and Prince Akeem from Coming to America. I. love.this.
Brandy went as Freddy Krueger.
I almost couldn’t formulate a proper sentence after seeing this pic, but all for the right reasons. Crooner Maxwell donned a pair of spooky eyes this year, coupled with a top hat. A VERY sexy Mad Hatter, perhaps?
Tika Sumpter partied it up with Sanya Richards Ross, with Tika as Nefertiti and Sanya as Florence Griffith Joyner. Tika looks like a true Nubian Queen. Get it!
J.Lo and her beau Casper Smart really got into the Halloween spirit, suspending themselves from trees as part of their Ninja costumes.
Emily B posted a family shot, with her as Poison Ivy, Fabolous as Two Face, her son Joso as the Riddler, and daughter Taina as Harley Quinn. Cute!
The Mom and Dad also headed out solo earlier in the week with Fab as a Zombie Michael Jackson from Thriller, and Em as an Ice Queen. Both, great costumes!
Rocsi Diaz showed the world that she’s a Star Wars girl at heart in a Starship Trooper costume. Oh, you thought she went to ComicCon only to show face? The TV personality embraces nerd culture, and I love that she thought outside the box for Halloween this year. Hot!
A sassy Pocahontas costume was on tap for Angela Simmons.
Aaah! The Walking Dead! Nope…it’s Draya Michele. Straying far away from her bodycon predilections, Draya went for something a lot spookier this go ’round: an Apocolyptic Zombie. A little creepy for my taste, but well played.
Rihanna and her homies also embraced a Walking Dead them, and went as a ‘Zombie Chola Gang.’ Behold Rih’s mugshot.
Naya Rivera gave us sassy, chic and savvy as she took references from every whiz kid’s childhood. The actress/singer went as Carmen Sandiego, and rocked a wide brimmed hat, red trench coat, a yellow scarf, a red patent leather leotard, and patent leather gloves and boots. Where on Earth is Naya Rivera going? To give us life! Hot!
Mr. Jay Manuel and June Ambrose slayed as Faun from Pan’s Labrynth and Marie Antoinette (thanks for the tip!). A million points for that makeup! Talk about putting in work!
Jessica White looked beautiful as a Vegas showgirl.
Iggy Azalea went as one of Disney’s fiercest villains, Cruella DeVille, at the Vevo Halloween Costume Showcase. And honey, the slaydom that ensued was…cruel, simply put. She stepped out in a fur black and white geometric coat, houndstooth pants, a Dalmatian, and a black and white lace front to put Beyoncé’s wig crypt to shame. Hot!
Cruella Deville must’ve been trending, as Laura Govan dressed up as the infamous villain as well as well. She had a Dalmatian on tap, along with a bicolored wig, and dress to boot.
Last, but not least, we have Zendaya Coleman, who delivered a pretty spot on rendition of the late great Aaliyah. From the Tommy Hilfiger logo’ed pieces to the front bang swoop, she pretty much killed it!
That’s all folks! Who took the costume crown this year for you, and what did you go as?
