Jeremy Scott has been at the helm of his eccentric eponymous label since 1997, collaborating with internationally renowned brands like Longchamp and Adidas. The avant-garde designer is now adding another stylish notch on his belt having just been named the new Creative Director of thirty year-old label, Moschino:
Scott takes the place of Rossella Jardini who had been at the head of the brand since 1994, when Moschino’s founder Franco Moschino passed away. The energy and excitement is palpable with Aeffe chairman Massimo Ferretti stating, “I am enthusiastic about this significant change, as our goal is to inject new energy into our Group in keeping with the changes already in place with other Aeffe brands such as Philosophy, Emanuel Ungaro, Pollini, and Cédric Charlier.”
Scott’s first collection for Moschino will debut with the brand’s Fall 2014 runway show, so get ready for the flashy, yet whimsical designs that are surely to come. I think it’s a great move for both parties: Scott is quintessentially the king of eye-catching, offbeat collections and Moschino loves to make a bold and unexpected statement. I can’t wait to see what Scott has up his sleeve.
What do you think? Are you excited for Scott’s new post at Moschino?
