For Spring 2014, Juicy Couture went back to Cali: showing its love for the Sunshine State by showcasing the different looks in the life of a Los Angeles fashionista. From gym-appropriate leopard print tracksuits to office chic striped sheaths, the brand managed to present an edited yet functional collection, equipped with pieces that every sartorially-inclined girl and woman could love.
The collection opened with sporty separates: in-line with the brand’s velour and terry track suit predilections. Different from previous offerings, the athletic-inspired pieces were covered in animal print: surely created to turn heads everywhere from the gym to a weekend run to Starbucks.
It was really all about animal print, with the feral pattern splattered across the majority of the collection’s pieces in a number of different iterations.
The brand stayed true to its flirty roots with pink and white gingham covering on-trend peplum tops, barely-there shorts, simple shift dresses, and more. Florals were also thrown in the mix, as is essential for the season.
Romantic hearts and lucky dice uplifted button-front blouses, graphic sweaters, skinnies, and zip-detailed dresses.
Most of my favorite looks in the offerings were those that were on the simpler side. I loved the way the brand paired metallic ankle-strap pumps with a simple sweatsuit with a feminine fit, as well as the ease of a printed baseball cap with a denim shirt, contrast stripe trousers, and gold pointed-toe pumps: despite my flair for eccentric and flashy design, there’s no denying that a woman always looks great when she keeps the fit on point and the tailoring precise.
