Roberto Cavalli is known for his penchant for wild prints. Leopard, cheetah, snake have become the designer’s signature over the years, his feral designs framing the lithe bodies of Hollywood A-listers. Spring 2014 offered, however, a more subdued take. While a handful of patterns came into play, the focus was on a subdued color palette of white, black, mint, blush pink, and gold, intensified by an onslaught of tantalizing textures.
Fantastic fur, light catching beads, and open weave designs were all fair game, as were tasseled fringe and scintillating sequins. Animal imprints came into play with a croc embossed metallic leather jacket, anchored by a whisper thin blouse and heavily embellished, almost reflective trousers. Semi sheer dresses clung to the form, seams outlined by tiny chains.
