Hey everyone! Apparently today is the start of football season, and I only found that out via Twitter. But, nevertheless, one “F” word reigns supreme above all. Fashion, of course! Undoubtedly, with New York Fashion Week and the Toronto International Film Festival in full swing, celebs spared no time showcasing what they wore via Instagram. But who landed on the hot list this week, and who didn’t offer enough pizzazz to make jaws drop?
Supermodel Selita Ebanks was a radiant vision as she posed on some stairs after filming a segment for The Style Network. Looking glorious in a $308 metallic golden sweatshirt worn as a dress by Faith Connexion and a $1,190 pair of Herve Leger ‘Abenia’ strappy leather boots, Selita served with side swooped hair and a plum lip. Hot!
Casual and cool was the name of the game for Rick Ross, Swizz Beatz, and Travis Barker at a Reebok Classic event. Swizzy was the standout here, as he donned a $304 Kenzo Tiger Embellished Sweater that will somehow find its way into my wardrobe this fall. Count on it.
Lala Anthony took Toronto by storm at the Toronto International Film Festival. Giving face and angles in her hotel room, Mrs. Anthony stunned in this scintillating $1,695 Altuzarra ‘Walker’ frock and a $695 pair of silver Saint Laurent ‘Paris’ pumps. Hot!
What would a post like this be without Mutha June Ambrose? She and her daughter took in the NYFW fanfare as they strolled the streets of the Concrete Jungle: June enrobed in a Moschino top and skirt and carrying a $1,067 bejeweled DSquared2 clutch. Living for the daytime smokey eye and the mouse eared headband. And Summer is cute as ever in her graphic tee and fedora.
Can I please have a face that sits on a golden throne like Jay Manuel‘s when I turn 40? Mr. Jay found his light (as Tyra taught us all to) stepping down a few stairs in attempts to delight us in his Alexander McQueen ensemble ($2,950 blazer, $785 shirt, $895 shoes). While I die for anything print-on-print…hmm…I can’t help but think that everything doesn’t mesh well here for me. It clashes, though I appreciate the risk. Maybe if the jacket was gone, or if he went for trousers in the same pattern as the shirt and jacket, that would have saved him.
Cosmopolitan’s recently appointed fashion market director, Shiona Turini, paused to snap a pic between shows. Donning a Nike tank top, Marc Jacobs skirt, a $1,945 Proenza Schouler PS11 mini classic camouflage bag and $402 Tom Ford sunglasses, she’s already hip to one of next spring’s biggest trends: meshing athletic pieces with feminine shapes. I really love how effortless everything looks here.
A svelte Ashley Madekwe set the tone for actresses who live for fashion in her Cushnie et Ochs frock during fashion week. A black $2,650 Balenciaga biker jacket, Chanel purse and $795 Saint Laurent ‘Jane’ leather ankle strap sandals complete this red HOT look!
Everyone’s just loving steps this weekend, huh? Kelly Rowland sat on a few and displayed a grin for the photog as she wore this $645 Givenchy Twin Doberman print T-shirt, denim cut offs, and a $1,350 pair of Giuseppe Zanotti peep-toe, platform ankle boots. So much for saving pennies on the dollar for a casual L.A. look. Nonetheless, the X Factor UK judge does look cute here.
Obviously, the best has been saved for last (no tea, no shade). Two iconic women and living legends in their own right, Naomi Campbell and Diane von Furstenberg, beamed for the camera as they let the excitement of the amazing display that DVF put on for her show yesterday marinate. Both clad in the designer’s frocks, Naomi’s being right off the runway, since she closed the show. HOT!
And there you have it! A bevy of looks from a slew of celebs who showed up and showed out over the weekend. Who were your hits and misses, Bomb readers?
