It’s the calm before the storm that is New York Fashion Week, and I’m staying put to get prepared! My weekend will be spent maxing and relaxing with family and friends, and doing some last minute shopping.
But before I do, we’ve got some Mail Bombs to solve!
First, Desiree writes, “ Can you please tell me which designer Amber is wearing?”
” I love her shirt/sweater!”
Both Wiz and Amber posed with model Omahyra Mota in shirts from Kokon to Zai’s Fall 2013 collection. See similar pieces below:
Unfortunately KokontoZai.co.uk doesn’t have Fall 2013 available as yet, but the collection should be in stock very soon. Check their website to see when you might be able to get the pieces for yourself.
Tiana writes, “I was watching Basketball Wives last night and saw Evelyn in this cute sweater!”
“Where did she get it?”
Evelyn talked love and heartbreak with her family (yes, I watch the show!) in a $68 Ripped Sweater from Love Hush Boutique:
Check out the back.
Interesting! At any rate, get yours here.
Next up, in an e-mail titled, “I need those Blurred Lines,” Kina types, “Since Sunday’s premiere of the Video Music Awards, I have been STUCK on Robin Thicke’s bold black and white striped suit.”
” I think it will be fitting as an ensemble to attend my friend’s fashion show coming up in September. I’ve been searching online for a female dupe but have only been stumbling across little stripes and/or suits with way too much going on and those simply won’t cut it. Claire, Jihan, ANYONE pleaseee help me with some suggestions!! I need those blurred lines in my life!!”
Ok, ok! Well, I wasn’t able to find a full on suit, but I did uncover some separates that will help you get the look. Try these out below:
In a wardrobe query, Nicki typed, “I purchased a pair of inexpensive track pants from Nordstrom and they have been hanging in my closet ever since.”
” I really can’t find a way to incorporate them into my everyday look. Probably because I’m not especially trendy. I would like to wear them to work, hanging out and everywhere in between. Any suggestions?”
F Bomb stylist Danielle Nicole offered a bit of her expertise! She offered, “Track pants are such a versatile piece that you can create almost any kind of look, it just really all depends on your style mood. For a sophisticated take on the tomboy chic trend, opt for feminine pieces like a stylish blouse and sleek high heel sandals or skyscraper pumps to balance out the sporty and casual feel. Even working in a blazer and a statement necklace can add a dose of sophistication. “
“… If you’re looking to create an edgier vibe, tuck in a basic white or grey tee, throw on a classic leather jacket, and add a bit of pizzazz with a statement clutch and swoon-worthy pumps. And for those days when you’re looking to tone it down a notch, a high top wedge sneaker, a printed sweatshirt or graphic tee option, and a trusty satchel handbag will do the trick.”
And Theresa says, “HEY CLAIRE, can you tell me who made Trinidad’s shirt?”
Reader Tam wrote in with these pretty good contender for $100 from Svpply.com.
If that doesn’t work, hopefully these options will do:
If you know the exact designer, please leave a comment.
Our Unsolved Mail Bombs are a bit random, but I’ll humor you!
First, Armani writes, “ I’m not sure how old this picture may be but these pants on the right are at the top of my want list right now. If you would please let me know where to purchase these I’d very much appreciate it.”
Lastly, Rachel says, “I saw this shirt on your site months ago on a post, I can’t find it . I think Drake was wearing it (not sure). I would like to know the designer. Thanks so much for your help.”
Hmmm…don’t remember blogging that one, and we generally don’t find items worn by non-celebs/public figures. But since it’s a holiday, I’ll let these slide.
And with that, I’m off! Have great weekends, and brace yourself for the fabness Fashion Week will undoubtedly bring to your computer screens.
