Last night’s ESPY Awards brought out a slew of celebs and noted athletes, many of whom looked a little uncomfortable standing in heels. But, no matter!
Let’s get into the fashion!
Paula Patton glittered in a silvery Theia dress, vintage belt, and silver Giuseppe Zanotti pumps. Not the most flattering look she’s ever donned, but I’m sure the figure skaters out there were pleased to see her keep to the sports theme for the night.
This burgundy Waraire Boswell suit was a good choice for LeBron James. Savannah Brinson kept on a happy face despite the crippling blow her oversized stuffed animal collection took for the making of this Michael Costello dress. Beauty has a price!
Queen of Class Gabrielle Douglas served an edgier look than usual, going with a structured Izmaylova LBD replete with leather touches and an embellished belt. The girl looks great!
Black is an expected choice for Gabrielle Union, but she wears it well. The actress paired an embellished Marc Bouwer dress with a pair of matching stilettos. Again, I would have preferred a metallic sandal here, but one glimpse at the Edge Control so expertly applied to those slick baby hairs, and all negative feelings fade away. Check out the back:
J. Mendel was on the menu for Maria Sharapova, who picked up on the dress’s sheer black hemline with a pair of black-and-gold Casadei ankle strap pumps. Love the dress, digging the footwear– not too keen on the just-rolled-out-of-bed hair. Leave that to the pros.
Nobody can serve face like McKayla Maroney! Nobody! America’s favorite underwhelmed gymnast stunned in a floor-length Saunder bronze gown, black strappy pumps, and glittering Edie Parker clutch. The makeup isn’t bad either!
Can you believe this is Tara Lipinski? The Olympic gold medal figure skating champion went with a cheeky LBD and Charlotte Olympia pumps.
Garcelle Beauvais thought there was no way she could go wrong in a monochrome look.
Lolo Jones hit the event in a ruched yellow Versace creation. She doesn’t look like she’s here for this outfit, either.
Lisa Leslie‘s draped white fishtail gown was the talk of the Bayside High School Prom.
Destinee Hooker showed off her baby bump in a draped one-shoulder floor length gown.
Red was the hue for Robin Roberts, who stunned in this asymmetric gown.
It’s difficult for a man’s outfit to outshine a woman’s, so, kudos to Torrey Smith for showing up his boo in the fashion department. Chanel Williams looks beautiful, but of all the Hervé Leger bandage dresses she could have worn, she chose this one? That’s like going to the Chobani store and getting plain yogurt!
Chrissy Teigen successfully executed a yellow-and-black color scheme without looking like a bumblebee. I believe congratulations are in order! The swimsuit model donned an Izmaylova blouse and skirt, finishing her look with delicate strappy sandals.
Beach volleyball pro Morgan Beck added her share of elegance to the affair in this black gown with sheer lace cutout paneling. Hot!
With her cruise ship diva dreams dashed, Cheryl Burke took the red carpet in what’s left of her days singing aboard the Queen Mary XIV. I’m not too keen on the dress at all, but her body looks so slammin’, I can’t hate!
A pink Nicole Miller confection was Shaun Robinson‘s choice for the evening. I’m just trying to avert my eyes from those shoes– too matchy-matchy!
Hope Solo tried the black and white trend in an appropriately sporty color blocked minidress.
Michael Phelps came with his boo. Neither wowed anyone.
And there you have it! Who do you think was best dressed?
