Aside from the Met Gala, the CFDA Fashion Awards ceremony is another huge night for fashion, as insiders coalesce to highlight burgeoning talent and acknowledge those tastemakers who have made significant contributions to the industry. The annual awards always bring out a wonderful cross section of designers, celebrities, and models, styled to the nines.
Let’s see who attended, and what they wore!
Nicole Richie skewed statuesque in a golden Marc Jacobs number, which hung delicately off her slender frame. Wine red lips and a sleek chignon completed her look. Hot!
Kerry Washington also sidled up to golden undertones in a Jason Wu gown, accessorized by a Lanvin clutch and Monique Pean jewelry. Her dress is elegant enough, though I wish she had opted for a bit more drama in the makeup department.
Sofia Vergara showed off her gorgeous decolletage in a bold green Spring 2013 Herve L Leroux Couture dress, offset by Lorraine Schwartz jewels. She knows how to work it, and be seen. Hot!
Olsen sisters Elizabeth and Mary Kate bet on black for the night, with Elizabeth in The Row and Mary Kate in Issey Miyake. Black and black is always chic–unless you’re drowning in fabric, as both of these ladies seem to be. Hmm…
Linda Evangelista did a little bit better in a black tier layer silk organza and chiffon fall 2013 gown by Oscar de la Renta, though I wish it had accentuated her svelte frame just a tad.
Miranda Kerr was party ready in a Proenza Schouler dress, topped off by Stuart Weitzman accessories. Loving the colors here.
Model Jessica Stam complemented a short lemon backless Rebecca Minkoff peplum cocktail with Christian Louboutin Dufoura PVC and Suede sandals. This is cute look…for a different event. With all the gowns, Ms. Stam looks a bit out of place.
Model Joan Smalls got the memo, and wore an angelic Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci Resort 2014 white corset dress with white lace pants. Her toes could’ve used a little polish, but I’m nitpicking here: she looks hot!
Alessandra Ambrosio also looked radiant in a backless white Kaufmanfranco top and matching white maxi skirt.
Adriana Lima was styled in this Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci creation for the night. I don’t mind the sheer hem, but something about the black sequined shorts seems a bit disjointed. Perhaps if they were gold? Or picked up on a color in the dress?
Karolina Kurkova showed off an envious pair of gams in a silver sequined short set by Michael Kors. Yes, it’s short, but the sequins make it sizzling hot! Model Cody Horn looks quite nice as well.
J.Crew designer Jenna Lyons looked like she was heading to a day at the office in pants and a light reflecting sweatshirt. Hmm..this outfit does nothing for me, but I will take that clutch please!
Alice + Olivia designer Stacey Bendet was absolutely darling in a red and black gown of her design. This is how you do it!
How adorable does Ashley Madekwe look in this Cushnie et Ochs cut out dress? Loving the Tiffany blue color, white pumps, and contrasting clutch. Hot!
Stylist Brad Goreski mixed plaids in this straight off the runway Thom Browne spring 2013 suit. The concept is great, but the execution is off. Hmmm…this is giving me clown chic.
Oliva Palermo looked ready to shimmy and shake in a Dennis Basso dress, topped off by gold mules and a Zara clutch. Stylish, flirty, fun… I love it!
Lastly, Geoffrey Beene lifetime achievement award winner Vera Wang looked every bit the hot momma she is in an asymmetric dress layered over slim pants.
That does it!
Who do you think was best dressed?
