What better season for showstopping prints than Resort? Prabal Gurung’s name has become synonymous with dazzling patterns and he pulls out all the stops for his latest collection for the season. Taking inspiration from his time spent at Bill Blass, the designs are classic American sportswear with a twist: our favorite silhouettes like the wrap dress and the wide-leg trouser uplifted with flirty detailing including high-cut tulip skirts and cutouts.
Gurung loves an unusual floral print and those are on display, giving life to knit sweaters with contrast trim, ladylike pleated skirts, silk blouses layered over peter pan collar shirts, athletic-inspired sheath dresses, and more.
Textures are dominant in the collection, with a glassy raffia tweed being most notable on boxy jackets and a ruffle-front pencil skirt with purposely unfinished hems.
The red carpet selections are endless. Fans including First Lady Michelle Obama, Kerry Washington, and Zoe Saldana will surely be wearing the collection’s gowns and cocktail dresses in the coming months.
What do you think of Prabal Gurung’s latest collection?
