You ready for what our final internship contestant has in store?
She was plucked to answer Jae, who wrote, “My New Year’s resolution was to start back at the gym and shed these pounds, but I am VAIN! (yes, I admit it) How in the heck can I go to the gym and remain fashionable?! Any tips? Please say yes!!” Intern 3 to the rescue! She wrote, “This look is great for cardio training. I chose a pair of mid-calf leggings and I paired them with a simple tank top.”

“If you are cold after the training throw the matching hoodie on. To accessorize the look, I added a fun pair of color-block sneakers and a matching gym bag.”
For look two, she says, “Make working out more fun by choosing a pair of printed leggings like these Aztec ones and make the outfit pop with a color of your choice.”

“I chose red, since it’s very energizing and it will help you last longer. I also added a pair of fun sunglasses just in case you are working out outside. And don’t forget the cut out gloves if you are working with weights, they will protect your hands.”
“If running is more your cup of tea, this last outfit is just perfect. I paired a simple T-shirt with a pair of shorts and I added a cropped hoodie for warmth.”

“Keep in mind to chose a good pair of running shoes to protect your knees and ankles. Try these high performance running shoes from Adidas. I also added a pair of cool shades and a tote bag for all those things you need for working out. Remember to chose light and body friendly materials such as cotton and keep the colors bold to make it more fun.”
Alright! Love those Adidas sneakers.
For working out, I personally have about 3 or 4 pairs of black capris/pants in rotation with a few brightly colored tanks…I wear red lipstick (yes, I’m vain, too!), waterproof liner, and simple stud earrings for a dash of fashion.
What about you guys?
What do you think of Intern 3′s suggestions?

These are cute. I like the 2nd one with the gloves and J’s the best. Gloves are important so your hands don’t get calloused. But did someone really ask what to wear to the gym???? Even TJ Maxx and Marshalls has cute stuff already color coordinated for you, come on.
March 19, 2013 12:58 pm
this is retarded… who wants to run or do cardio in wedge heels??? i know its in style but thats not practical for the gym if you are really tryna workout hard
March 19, 2013 1:01 pm
I like the first option the best. It’s hard to get gym wear wrong if you want to look nice. It’s easier for me to get dressed to work out than to go out! Black bottoms, a colorful top and done!
March 19, 2013 1:06 pm
In all honesty, if you’re concerned with “looking cute” in the gym, you aren’t serious about getting in shape since you’ll be sweating & getting dirty. Black leggings, sports bra, tank top, hoodie & sneakers; voila. But I guess if someones concern is posting on Instagram with a “#gymflow” caption, it works…
March 19, 2013 1:09 pm
Being a person that workout out 4-5 days a week I appreciate the post; just hope the reader already has a semi decent body – spandex and runner’s shorts aren’t for every body type. I’m vain myself so I may be a bit critical.
March 19, 2013 1:11 pm
LOL at J. Nicole that is so true! that must be what they are looking for instagram posts!
March 19, 2013 1:12 pm
Outfit #2 is cute, love the gloves but I think intern 3 should get another chance at a different kind of style inspiration post, this one gives no real variety since it’s about function first and fashion second.
March 19, 2013 1:23 pm
lol people always tryna get chose at the gym
March 19, 2013 1:25 pm
@Jackie all three ladies will be able to submit one look for a challenge tomorrow. Stay tuned!
Also regarding the A Keys wedges…when I first looked at them, I didn’t realize they were wedge sneakers. It’s hard to tell. So perhaps Intern 3 can get a pass. They look like regular sneaks at first glance, no?
March 19, 2013 1:29 pm
I think all the tops and sweat shirts are cute. I have so many pieces I buy from the store and end up wearing the same pieces over and over. Its no longer about being stylish for me. Its staying toned and focus.
March 19, 2013 1:30 pm
raise your hand if you currently or want to run in wedge heeled sneakers!! claire what were they thinking???
March 19, 2013 1:32 pm
J. Nicole Thank You!!!
Ain’t nobody got time for that!!! These are usually the chicks that clog up the machines- walking at a pace of 0.5 miles and talking on their cellphones-
I’m at the gym 6 days a week- no child’s play- all black is my uniform, with a bright, colorful sports bra to match my sneakers or my shoelaces- that’s as fashionable as it gets.
March 19, 2013 1:34 pm
Great post, I am a distance runner and I have been training outside all winter (in Canada!!) can’t wait for the spring running fashion.
But Claire…who works out in WEDGE HEELED SNEAKERS!?!
March 19, 2013 1:35 pm
ok claire she gets a pass ur right
March 19, 2013 1:42 pm
i dont see anything wrong with wanted to look stylish while working out.im so sick of ladies looking and judging others for what they choose to wear to the gym.if you want to look glamorous, you have to look put together 24/7 and that includes the gym.i like looking cute at the gym and i manage to get a good workout while doing it.
March 19, 2013 1:50 pm
Man, some girls squat at home in heels so… :shrugs: They’re in the gym so bless ‘em. The 2nd outfit was more my thing but the gloves were a missed opportunity to “color pop” Check http://g-loves.com/ for that.
As for #gymflow and the girls on “Instagram straight flexin’” check this comedy vid if you have 5 minutes: http://youtu.be/Hm6bilorYio
Intern 3, you did good…don’t sweat it ;)
March 19, 2013 1:51 pm
I don’t care if people want to look cute or look like they’ve been dragged through hell, as long as you are working out, kudos!!
Don’t waste your time judging others.
Personally, I like to look put together for my runs…whether it’s a 5K or 21K. Mind you, I don’t bother with makeup…after such a run you look like hell anyway, don’t want to add smearing mascara to the mix. lol but I have some pretty fun shirts. lol That said, as a runner, you have to put money into your clothes, not just for looks but for quality, especially if you’re like myself that runs in different seasons ranging from -27C to 31C.
March 19, 2013 1:54 pm
I don’t think Intern 3 realized the original sneaks in look 1 were wedges. I subbed in another pair. X
March 19, 2013 1:58 pm
Intern 3 you Rock! I have just started working out again and all 3 outfits will work for me…I love Nike and I love the shirts you posted and leggings to….hitting a Nike Store this weekend! Thx
March 19, 2013 2:00 pm
LOL @ Claire
Good job.
And no insult to the Intern, keep up the good work!
March 19, 2013 2:14 pm
@aliana Whoever is asking what to wear to the gym will probably wear a wedge sneaker to the gym.
Even though I think it’s a waste of a What to Wear question but I think all of the looks are really cute! The first one is my favorite. I think any bright color against grey is a win. Great job Intern #3!
March 19, 2013 2:32 pm
I wouldn’t wear any of these but they are all put together well. Good job intern #3!!!
March 19, 2013 2:48 pm
What kind of headphones were those in this first picture? I could really use a new pair that are cute and won’t break
March 19, 2013 2:53 pm
@Jbrizzy Here they are:
http://www.verabradley.com/product/Category/Tech-Cases/Ear-Buds/1001737/defaultColorVariantId/176553/pc/638/c/0/sc/821/p/1001737.uts?siteID=Hy3bqNL2jtQ-J_nbURgdiUFnB0AFFSopvw
I’d also recommend Bose headphones. They’re loud and stay in your ear even with a bunch of sweating (for those outdoor runners).

Make sure to get a warranty for ‘em. But really, there’s nothing like them.
March 19, 2013 2:54 pm
Nothing wrong with looking good in the gym. I actually have to upgrade some of my looks for my summer runs so thanks.
Funny how people equate looking good while working out to not really working out..cue all the bad fitness girls on instagram who manage to have the most ridiculously healthy bods AND cute outfits..wow wow who would have thought?!
March 19, 2013 3:27 pm
I like 1 and 3. I don’t see what the problem is with wanting to look good even at the gym. Just because you are putting in work and sweating doesn’t mean you have to look like you rolled out of bag…shrugs A gym is still a public place and outing so one would try to look at least presentable in a public place. Heck, as long as more women get into the gym and focus on their health hey throw on a ball grown for all I care…lol
March 19, 2013 4:10 pm
Thanks for the post! My bf was just telling me I need to re-amp my work out gear because he was tired of seeing me in large t-shirts and leggings…..I said well lets go to Modell’s so you can get me some stuff lol j/k.
March 19, 2013 4:11 pm
I think the intern did well for what was asked. but I WORK when i work out. black capri spandex pant to kide unsightly sweat stains and any bright workeout top from walmart && a great cute pair of nikes. what more could you need? unless youre just there to snap pics or catch a man.
March 19, 2013 4:49 pm
yeah, i work out 6 days a week and unless it starts raining money or i catch the fitspo bug, i’m honestly not spending cash to impress other people with my kit. i’m grateful at least that all the outfits are decent and my fave is the first one. if you want reasonable priced sports gear (clothes, equipment, everything!) try sportsdirect.com :)
March 19, 2013 5:09 pm
I was here for the sneakers in the “style 1″ pic but the color is no longer available…I feel bamboozled and my little heart is hurt :(
March 19, 2013 7:20 pm
All cute looks, but what is a post about cute workout gear without lululemon?
March 19, 2013 10:05 pm
A bit Nike heavy but ok.
March 20, 2013 2:39 am
Nice
March 20, 2013 2:40 am
Nice…doesn’t Have to be namebrand
March 20, 2013 8:01 am
looking cute should be a WAY OF LIFE! Even at the Gym! Thanks Fashionbomb I am loving this!
March 20, 2013 9:33 am
I was just searching the web for cute workout outfits. I love the looks. Gave me some great inspiration. Being fashionable is a way of life! I actually think taking the time to get workout clothes makes you more motivated to workout. Plus It was on trend, Jordans, crop tops, aviators. Kudos intern!!
March 20, 2013 10:58 am
The looks are cute but what’s a workout with out Nike Dry Fit work out pants?
March 20, 2013 12:06 pm
I just wear all black – funeral for my fat and hides alot. :-)
March 20, 2013 12:59 pm
Love this…I totally thing it’s fine to be fashionable and workout at the same time. Matter of fact, I reward myself by buying new workout attire everytime I reach a fitness goal. Nothing wrong with being cute and breaking a sweat at the same time…because I def gets it in at the gym with 57 less pounds to show for it.
March 20, 2013 10:10 pm
I find lots of cute, but inexpensive workout gear at JcPennys, TJ. Maxx, and Marshals. Maybe I’m vain, but I feel a lot more motivated when I look cute working out.
March 28, 2013 7:32 am
Oh! Im just seeing this! Thanks a BUNCH!!
LOL@ the judgements. To each his/her own I guess.
I love looking cute wherever i go, whether it be the gym or to bed.
