It’s Monday, and I decided to feature a repeat Bombshell! Maryam from Philly had her first twirl on the site in 2009. Let’s see how her style has evolved, shall we?

She says, “I would describe my style as old Hollywood…”

“… meets New York.”

” I like trendy yet timeless pieces.”

” Dresses are a staple in my wardrobe.”

” You can catch me shopping in Neimans one day and Salvation Army the next.”

” I keep my accessories to a minimum…”

“… my makeup prim…”

“… and my hair big.”

You’re a beauty! Loving your ruffled peplum pants suit. Gorgeous!
What do you think?

Certainly more variety then her last submission.
I really like the a-line dress on you, I really think it compliments your figure. The black sheath dress looks nice on you too.
March 18, 2013 1:44 pm
Ok style. I love the peplum jacket. That color is great on you! Least favorite would be the leopard dress, it’s a bit too long and cuts you off especially with the booties.
March 18, 2013 1:50 pm
Stylish girl but there’s some things that you just shouldn’t where…like that pink suit…
March 18, 2013 1:56 pm
Imposter! You’re not from Philly, where’s your day time satin bonnet, your night scarf doo rag, a seasonally inapproprite jacket, your jeans and Polo boots???? Chics from Philly can be a mess at times & I’m born and raised here so I know. You’re cute and well put together. I like they leopard dress and boots, just not together. I’d shorten the dress and wear with a strappy sandal.
March 18, 2013 2:07 pm
YES!!
March 18, 2013 2:18 pm
IDK, I’m split down the middle on this submission. I like the leopard dress but like an above poster responded, not with the leopard shoes and yes the hem needs to be shortened.
March 18, 2013 2:20 pm
im not into the tight dresses on her. you can tell she lost ALOT of weight and the only reason you know is because of those tight dresses. i actually like the pink suit. too much hair. and that leopard asos dress …well… the shoes….. anywho pretty girl, but no.
March 18, 2013 2:27 pm
-_-
March 18, 2013 2:27 pm
Lacks variety but ok style. My favorite was the black & white dress. & yes shorten that hem girl.
March 18, 2013 2:33 pm
love your shoes :-)
March 18, 2013 2:33 pm
she tried…God bless her
March 18, 2013 2:34 pm
go philly do that boo!
March 18, 2013 2:34 pm
Her face is beautiful I like most of her looks
March 18, 2013 2:50 pm
I don’t get Old Hollywood or New York from her looks but she’s a cute girl. Not my style but an A for effort and for being from Philly :-)
March 18, 2013 2:52 pm
That orange hair color has got to be the most unflattering hair color NEVER created by nature and yet so many women of color INSIST&PERSIST in doing this to themselves.
SIGH I wish women of color would stop with;
Blonde/Orange/ Red hair dyes/weaves
Colored Contacts
False Lashes looking like spiders on lids
Copious amounts of weave
March 18, 2013 2:54 pm
Old Hollywood- always look up the fashion era b4 attempting to describe it, cause as displayed here most people get it W R O N G.
Let me translate- now that I have lost some weight- I can wear tight dresses that are the opposite of flattering but are on trend.
March 18, 2013 3:14 pm
Love it!
March 18, 2013 3:26 pm
Love the black and white dress… And the shoes that she has on with the black lace dress… She’s a pretty girl!
March 18, 2013 3:36 pm
Her weave is on point!
March 18, 2013 3:47 pm
Bombshell ! She’s a pretty lady.
March 18, 2013 3:55 pm
I love her feminine look..big curls (a bit long but it seems that she likes the drama), soft makeup and fitted dresses. It’s nothing I’ve never seen before but I think that she does it well. Looks like she seems comfortable in each look too. Cute.
March 18, 2013 3:58 pm
@KBS LMFAO!!!!!!! I live in Philly (not from there) You hit it dead on the spot.
March 18, 2013 4:08 pm
Okay. Some looks are cute but strappy sandals and shoes stopping at your ankle isn’t flatter on you.
March 18, 2013 4:16 pm
needs better shapewear and under garments. lumps and sags ruin the styling =(
March 18, 2013 4:26 pm
Ok style. Hits and misses everywhere.
March 18, 2013 4:32 pm
she has great hair
March 18, 2013 4:33 pm
Ok style. The only problem I see that is recurring is the fit of her outfits. They would look much better if the fit was on point! Ladies, forget about the number (size) on the clothes, what’s important is how you look in them :)
March 18, 2013 4:36 pm
@ Orange.
Agreed.
March 18, 2013 4:41 pm
Sighs. That hair! LOVING it. Gorg.
March 18, 2013 4:57 pm
Yes, hunny!
March 18, 2013 5:24 pm
It is a much better improvement from 4 years ago. When u slim down a great deal its best to invest money in good undergarments that can smooth it out a little. Get your measurements and try to stick to it. Cute outfits and lady like. Not a fashion bomb, but decent.
March 18, 2013 5:30 pm
@orange … agreed with your translation. However The Orange hair is not a bad look.
Did you lose a lot of weight or something … trying to figure out why your body looks like that. Well Kudos if you did. No Shade! Your Beautiful
March 18, 2013 5:34 pm
She matured over 4 years, as would be expected. This compilation was hit and miss for me. The love of vintage is shared and appreciated but the execution needed a bit more polish: some pieces need tailoring (white beaded dress), body taping (top for the pink jumper), or resizing (shoes with the blue dress).
Loved, loved, loved the LBD, sequin top and B/W dress outfits.
Note to all of us darker skinned girls: please think twice about wearing lacy dresses with “nude” linings. Unless the lining is changed to match your own skin tone, the effect can be jarring.
Gosh, all this commentary because I really wanted to Vote Bombshell since her demure presentation is quite fetching.
March 18, 2013 5:54 pm
VERY FLY!
March 18, 2013 7:28 pm
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
March 18, 2013 7:45 pm
Pretty girl with an o.k. style!
March 18, 2013 7:58 pm
umm, i didn’t type she has great hair that was posted by the tt above. claire, i didn’t know there could be duplicate names on your msg board. anyways, the hair is ok, but it’s too much & too long. the a-line dress works for her shape, but the skin tight dresses…no.
March 18, 2013 9:33 pm
I think she looks great. I personally like the length of the leopard dress.
March 18, 2013 10:06 pm
finally a larger girl dressing nicely and not looking crazy! love the big hair and she is dressing for her body type but still having fun…kudoos
March 18, 2013 11:19 pm

March 19, 2013 9:42 am
I think she is lovely….something is off but fab none the less. Oh girl though…personal pet peeve….if you’re gonna take pics with the floor showing clean that joker up…..you know folks end up on hot mess sites for less. Just saying…..
March 19, 2013 12:32 pm
I hope this isn’t inappropriate but I would love to know where she gets her hair from.
March 19, 2013 12:51 pm
Ladies take notes! Your weave is everything!
March 19, 2013 1:52 pm
I love her hair and that pant suit is so cute!
March 19, 2013 2:26 pm
“Old Hollywood”? I wasn’t aware that bodycon dresses qualified under that description. Additionally trendy pieces aren’t timeless. I think some looks were styled nicely, but the fit left quite a bit to be desired.
March 19, 2013 3:07 pm
BombShell.
March 19, 2013 7:45 pm
Love the pink suit! Definitely bombshell material!
March 19, 2013 11:38 pm
I love, love, love the pink suit and her silver dress. ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!
