• The Kardashians have experienced a major setback in the launch of their makeup brand, as they are no longer allowed to use the name Khroma Beauty. If you remember, the reality sisters three were facing legal action from two similarly named cosmetics companies, Chroma Makeup Studio in Beverly Hills, and Kroma Makeup, respectively. Chroma filed an injunction against the Kardashians, which was denied, but Kroma (a Lee Tillett, Inc. Company) has had more luck. Judge Audrey Collins of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California has granted a preliminary injunction against Khroma Beauty, as she found that the brand’s presence had indeed hurt sales for Kroma Makeup, who experienced a 25% decrease in sales since the launch of the Kardashians’ makeup line. The judge asserted that while an injunction might cost Khroma a cute coin, not granting an injunction would “will destroy Tillett’s business, which it has built over a decade, causing losses of hundreds of thousands.” Good to know that there is some justice for the little man in America. • The CFDA has announced the nominees for this year’s Fashion awards. Up for the Womenswear Designer of the Year award are Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs, and Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez. Accessory award names include the Proenza Schouler boys, Alexander Wang and Phillip Lim. For Menswear Designer of the Year, Thom Browne, Michael Bastian, and Duckie Brown’s Steven Cox and Daniel Silver will jockey for the title. Honorary awards will also be passed out that evening. According to WWD, “Vera Wang will receive the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award and Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci the International Award. The Founders Award, in honor of Eleanor Lambert, will go to Oscar de la Renta, while Tim Blanks of Style.com is getting the Media Award in honor of Eugenia Sheppard. Costume designer Colleen Atwood will receive the Board of Directors’ Tribute Award.” Who do you think should take home each respective title? Sound off! (WWD)
• Alicia Keys will be dipped and laced in the finest of designer garments for her ‘World on Fire’ tour, which started in Seattle last week. The singer will bless the stage in bespoke pieces from Akris (see it here), Hervé Leger, Maison Michel, and Michael Kors. Check out this sketch of one of the runway looks Albert Kriemler of Akris customized for Ms. Keys. (WWD)
• Word on the street is that Nicolas Ghesquière, former creative director at Balenciaga, is being courted by a few fashion companies to helm a new label. The New York Post names LVMH, Diesel, and Li & Fung as the companies allegedly wooing the designer, with Diesel being particularly gung-ho about the possibility of bringing Ghesquière into the fold. They say, however, that the designer “is holding out for a firm that can guarantee him an equity stake in his own label, something Diesel hasn’t offered.” Of course, these are rumors, but a new Ghesquière label doesn’t sound all that unrealistic. Stay tuned! (NYP)
• The Dior-Galliano dispute is headed to a court of appeals. Last month, Dior opposed a ruling by Paris’s Labor Relations court which said they were qualified to hear Galliano’s claims against them. A hearing has been set for October 24th, where Galliano’s people will continue to argue that the designer is due compensation for damages as a salaried employee. Christian Dior Couture and John Galliano SA’s lawyers say that the designer was hired more as an independent contractor than a full-time employee, so they owe him nothing. While we don’t know the exact amount Galliano is seeking, we do know it is close to $7.8 million. Watch this space to see how this case unfolds! (WWD)

Kim – love the shoes, love the blouse…hate the outfit on her. She needs to find figure flattering maternity clothes. In regards to the makeup line, don’t these people do research? You have lawyers, you have money, you have google…use them!

Ditto to what “Soul Touch” said. I just want Kimmy to find clothes that flatter her figure while she is pregnant. Cause this doesn’t suit her right now.
March 14, 2013 11:10 am
Yes every pregnant woman still wants to look good, I know I wanted that…but at the same time Kim needs to find clothes that make her bump look like a bump, rather than someone who over ate.
March 14, 2013 11:24 am
When I was pregnant, I always wore flowing but not too loose tops that were a little on the longer side and I belted them right above my bump and right under my chest to emphasize it… This type of outfit is not flattering and wouldn’t be for any pregnant woman. It looks like she is just overweight instead of pregnant.

i Honestly dont think that it was going to sell good anyway. tbh there are already tons of beauty brands that have the same products (some have them for much cheaper) and i havent seen their line out anywhere. there isnt anything original about the Kardashians. they think that adding a “K” to everything they sell is clever but its stupid. the clothes they sell at sears are ugly and cheap looking, makeup line failed, kendall and kylies line is dumb looking. smh they might as well give up and stick to reality tv (even though their ratings are bad)

I’m confused as to why a pregnant ill-dressed Kim is the main photo about the sister’s lawsuit. That belongs in a Hot or Hmmm post.
March 14, 2013 12:21 pm
you know kris jenner knows how to get rid of things and ppl who get in the way. not this time i guess.
love kim’s shoes and top…that isn’t a good choice for her growing belly
March 14, 2013 12:22 pm
the skirt isn’t a good choice, rather
March 14, 2013 1:53 pm
poor kimmy, still not dressing for her body type. Even if she wasn’t pregnant, a high waisted skirt is hard to pull of on a short waisted curvy body type.

LMAO…enuff said…
March 14, 2013 2:23 pm
I’m sorry but I had to laugh at that pic of Kim. No ma’am! LOL That outfit doesn’t have quite the same effect when you’re preggo. Switch it up boo. lol
March 14, 2013 2:33 pm
I am glad that Chorma has won those far. They need to stop it with the world domination in every market. Go be wives and a family. We do not need every product to come from you.
March 14, 2013 3:11 pm
Kris Jenner is tacky for this one.
March 14, 2013 3:26 pm

March 14, 2013 4:46 pm
Kim is tripping I know she see’s the photos of herself looking out of shape and she looks so out of shape because she won’t wear clothes made for pregnant women. I mean maternity clothes nowadays are really fashionable she keep walking around like a pig in a blanket!
March 14, 2013 5:27 pm
Again, her shoes are cute . . . maybe after she has the baby she’ll go way for a while!
Lips are a no, no!
March 14, 2013 5:39 pm

Glad something is getting done about that lawsuit. You can’t just steal another company’s name like that. I don’t understand why you wouldn’t do your research first. Anywho, I’m hoping Alexander Wang takes it.
