• As it turns out, British designer Vivienne Westwood isn’t a fan of First Lady Michelle Obama’s style. In an interview with the New York Times, the outspoken Westwood said, “Don’t talk about her. It’s dreadful what she wears….I don’t want to talk about it. Really, I can’t. She’s a very nice looking lady, but it’s a nonstarter regarding clothes that suit her.” Oh, but it didn’t stop there. She continued, “Jackie Kennedy was a different matter altogether. It just has to suit her and be something that makes a human being more glamorous. That’s what fashion is there for. It’s there to help, not just to make you look more conservative.” Maybe it’s just me, but it seems certain designers almost purposely take aim at Mrs. Obama to generate press for themselves. • Skira Rizzoli is publishing a book which examines the work of Stephen Burrows, set to coincide with an exhibition at the Museum of the City of New York entitled Stephen Burrows: When Fashion Danced. Both the book and show document Burrows’s rise to fame in the 1970′s, along with his New York art, music, and dance culture inspirations. The exhibit runs from March 22nd to July 28th. Unbeknownst to her, the flick exposed a little more than she bargained for. After fans noticed her nipple, she replied, “It’s not a nipple it’s a shadow it’s not a bush it’s a shadow oh god I just blew it up on my computer I get what you’re saying oh no”. • Famed photographer David LaChapelle is in a bit of hot water. He’s currently being sued for $1 million, following accusations of attacking gallery owner James Parmenter in March of last year. “LaChapelle pushed and threw Parmenter around the apartment, including into the bed, exercise equipment and closet, and choked Parmenter nearly to the point of uncoinsciousness,” revealed the lawsuit. • Though this isn’t necessarily “fashion” related, we posted an alleged Beyoncé tracklisting to our Tumblr yesterday, and her fans were quick to denounce it as a fake. Now, Ne-Yo, who has previously announced that he is working with Beyoncé on her latest album, has stated “I saw that Beyoncé’s tracklisting just leaked and I’ve got a couple of joints on there, which is good news. I’m very happy about that.” When further questioned by Digital Spy on whether or not he believed the list was fake he said, “I don’t know, I mean you never really can tell until the album comes out.” I personally can’t imagine a Beyoncé album with so many features, but we’ll just have to wait and see. In my opinion Vivienne is mad her designs didn’t get excepted by our Flotus; I’m sure she submitted a couple of items and her feelings are hurt. The First Lady is definitely a style icon and anyone that says differently is hating.
