• The Cut‘s Maureen O’Connor has a bone to pick with Kim Kardashian and her rather uncomfortable-looking maternity wardrobe. O’Connor argues that the reality starlet’s penchant for fitted pieces, and obsession with hiding her weight gain at this point in her pregnancy is a little troublesome, if not simply ridiculous: “I’m not saying she has to “dress the bump” if she doesn’t want to. But if there’s one time when you don’t need to “conceal weight gain,” it’s when your weight gain is associated with the human organism growing in your torso.” Fair enough! What do you think? Should Kim end her fronting, and keep things comfy while she’s with child? Or do you think her fitted wardrobe is fabulous? (The Cut)
• HL Group executive Lynn Tesoro, who was slapped in the face back in September before the Zac Posen show, has settled the $1 million dollar lawsuit she filed against her aggressors, Jalou publishing house president Marie José Susskind-Jalou, and daughters Vanessa Bellugeon and Jennifer Eymere. If you remember, fire marshalls descended upon the Posen show last season to remove 60 seats from the venue. In the grand mix-up, the HL PR team were forced to rearrange seats, which set off the Jalou girls, resulting in the slap heard ’round the fashion world. Tesoro sued for libel, assault, and slander. All three of the accused parties have been charged with assault and slander, and while we don’t know how much the settlement was for, we do know that the Jalou clan was made to apologize to Tesoro for their behavior. Good ‘ol American Justice: served! (WWD)
• Well we know at least one person was feeling Hedi Slimane‘s Fall 2013 collection. Courtney Love has been singing the designer’s praises for his execution of the grunge look the singer helped popularize back in the ’90s. “Hedi is a genius,” she said, “No offense to MJ [Marc Jacobs] but he never got it right. This is what it really was. Hedi knows his shit. He got it accurate, and MJ and Anna [Sui] did not.” Hmm… what do you think? Were you feeling Hedi’s collection this season? (Grazia)
• The Man Repeller makes her design debut with a collection in collaboration with Patterson J. Kincaid. The range consists of flirty dresses, loose-fitting blouses, and cool separates sure to do the opposite of repelling. Prices range from $88 for a t-shirt (!) to $328 for a printed dress. Check out the collection at CUSP. (CUSP)

If Kim doesn’t want to dress up her baby bump then that’s her choice. She is only in her early stages and her bump isn’t even that big. Most of her weight is being carried in her hips and breast anyway. Granted, I don’t like all of her fashion choices but that’s just in general. Plus, none of us knows how she’s really feeling during these stages anyway. She could still be uncomfortable; give her time.

She would look and feel better in the maternity clothes at target. The suits and runway pieces that she is trying to convert into maternity wear look silly.
March 6, 2013 2:25 pm
kim is uncomfortable because Kanye is dressing her. What man would know how to dress a pregnant woman? when she dresses herself she looks just fine.. but whatever is clever..
March 6, 2013 2:25 pm
I agree…being pregnant for some is no walk in the park. We criticize/scrutinize her enough for crying out loud she should wear what she wants while she’s pregnant she’s not harming or child by wearing skin fitting clothes so who cares? you can be sexy and expecting (within reason of course) I am going to enjoy looking at her always perfect body spreading ever-so- largely over the next few months tho..lol

That Man Repeller bustier’s going to be on everyone apparently because there’s no way they only made XS.
As to Kim, I’ve been appreciating her attempts at not wanting to go “maternity.” However, that B/W ensemble they did was about Kimye doing the most. She’s been in a few other non-maternity outfits that suited her bump better.

Actually, wearing clothes that are too tight during pregnancy will effect her circulation. The baby may be fine but if her health becomes a problem then the baby’s health is called into question. Also, has anyone noticed she hasn’t worn denim since they went public?

meh to the manrepeller line..seen it all before.

Oh Kim K….I hope this doesn’t drag out for the next 2 trimesters but I fear it will.

Not feeling Hedi’s collection, been suspect since the whole rebranding idea
And I think Mrs. Humphries has been looking cute, I like the understated hair

Pregnancy is such a personal experience, I don’t understand why all these women feel the need to attack Kim on the way she chooses to dress right now. It’s her body and her choices, she can wear whatever she wants. It’s enough for everyone to be calling her fat and now we’re going to criticize her for the control she does have right now which is how she dresses. I’m so sick of women nitpicking at each other like that. I don’t think she’s been ‘hiding’ her pregnancy either, u wouldn’t wear tight clothes to hide ur bump.
She’s been trying sometimes it works… other times it doesn’t but who cares. If she’s happy with it then that’s fine. I understand why she’d want to keep wearing her own clothes and not wanting to wear enormous maternity garments especially when she’s already being called a ‘whale’

People are so judgmental, it’s bad enough Kim already gets criticized so now being pregnant everything she does is magnified. She’s only about 4 months pregnant, the bump isn’t in full form and she’s in an awkward stage in her pregnancy where she’s is still gaining weight everywhere. She doesn’t look bad and she’s trying to experiment with fashion, let her wear what she wants it isn’t hurting the baby or anyone else.

No. Kim has access to stylists and a wardrobe that the rest of us can only dream of. She has no excuse to look like a hot mess. The problem with Kim is that her self worth is tied in with her sexuality. She will be squeezing herself into figure hugging, boob revealing clothing to the very end.

Hedi Slimane and the person who hired Hedi Slimane should get the pink slip.

Agree with most of the comments. I mean, I’ve cringed + cussed at some of the awful ish she chose to wear, but to be fair he did manage to wear some cute stuff. Leave her alone…folks wanna see her blow up so bad its sad…she’s having a baby for christ’s sake. I’m kinda glad she’s not having one of those “hollywood” pregnancies tbh. All the awkwardness makes her almost…relatable

she was 6 weeks pregnant wearing a tight leather skirt ( if anyone remembers) now its getting crazy to me and damn near uncomfortable to look at her at times
the man repeller dress sucks
and the ysl line is terrible and does not reflect the luxury brand in a good way

Congrats to Man Repeller. As for Kim K, let’s see how long she will last with the figure hugging pieces.

Why would someone care if she is trying to hide her pregnancy or not. It seems that she does not have a big belly yet and can still fit regular clothes. Really who cares?
March 7, 2013 10:58 am
i love the way kim kardashian dresses, but personally it bothers me that shes trying to cover her bump. i agree, she should try to embrace her pregnancy instead of hide it. im not saying walk outside in a tank top and sweats. i think she is so pretty and why not show off her body during one of her most vulnerable periods in her life? i think shes just so consumed in what ppl think of her and she wants to be seen as this fashion icon(which no one would care about if she wasnt with kanye) and its not coming off in the right way
March 7, 2013 3:27 pm
Kim outfits do look very uncomfortable. To each its own. Let her be uncomfortable. Hate to see what she wears at 8 months. The pain
