• ‘Life With André‘ fans will be sad to hear that Vogue is nixing the column, penned by the legendary André Leon Talley. With the editor moving on to lusher pastures, inking a more lucrative deal as a contributor for Numéro Russia, and signing on to host a talk show (still in the works), the folks at Vogue are lightening the editor’s load. But don’t worry– Andre will still contribute to the fashion bible’s digital platform. (NYP)
• Heidi Klum‘s added another hosting gig to her busy schedule. The supermodel has been tapped as the fourth judge for America’s Got Talent. She will join Howie Mandel, Howard Stern, and Mel B. on the star-studded panel. (@heidiklum)
• These days, the once cotton candy lacefront-donning Nick Minaj has toned down her look, much to the delight (or chagrin) of her adoring Barbz. The rapstress explained the reasoning behind the change: ” I have been doing a lot of dresses lately, and I feel more confident when I wear dresses. It doesn’t have to be super over the top sexy. Some of the dresses that I have been doing lately have been completely covered like sweater dresses and my fans have really responded to it. My fans are like ‘Hey Nicki, we want the crazy leggings’ and stuff like that, but we also want to have things that we can wear whether we are going to work or whatever. I’m really focused on the dresses! I’ve been feeling so romantic and sexy lately. Nicki is a brand new person stepping into this year, and we love it!” (Global Grind)
• Looks like slavery is in fashion these days. Mango is the latest retailer to shill out “captive chic” with this “slave style” chain, which appears to be nothing more than a nameplate necklace. Whether or not they meant to offend, the nomenclature is indeed unfortunate, and how they got the slave reference to describe the piece overall is befuddling, to say the least. But what do you think? Do you find this ‘slave necklace’ offensive? (Update: Mango apologized, dubbing the name an ‘error in translation.’ They have since pulled the product.) (Lipstick Alley)

• According to The Cut, kids these days are selling kicks to make extra coins, leaving those youngsters selling candy on the subway (or herb in the school parking lot), staunchly in the dust. (The Cut)

I am not a huge fan of Nicki, but i must say that she has been looking great these days. i’m glad that she toned it down. it just shows that she can still be herself and not look so crazy all the time.

I like Nicki’s new look, but honestly…she should tone down on the makeup. She has on way too much in this photo. IMO

Nicki is looking much better, she better keep it up. And no that necklace is not offensive, people are way too sensitive these days.

Love the new Nicky. I am not a fan but less is more and she seems to want to go that route. Good for her. She has alwyas been pretty to me and now her beauty is more evident.
