So is there going to be a glamour for African or Black woman?if you don’t know the answer is HELL NO. America loves to leave black people out. Are we not a race with a variety of skin colors and hair types. Smh I guess African- Americans just aren’t an important race even though OUR ancestors help build this country for 250 years. While being abused every way possible while doing it. I know for a fact there would not ever be a white ran magazine doing a African- American addition.

As a latina working for a company that is OWNED by an afro-latina. I think it is time that magazines that are geared towards us… represent the FULL spectrum. We always get J.Lo and Zoe Saldana repping for the “afro-latinas”. Show us bushy heads and prietas.. IJS

I, also, hope that they highlight and feature businesses owned by us and for us….brands that think of us as afterthoughts are constantly shoved down our throats with no mention of anything else. This mag is the same as Latina and Cosmo Latina…NEXT! SHOW ME SOMETHING DIFFERENT!

These girls better work… Love the idea. Finally some color in a professional editorial format. Hope to see Joan Smalls on the cover soon. As for all the shade being thrown at the publication… if they have the budget to produce something and see a market for it, more power to them. That’s the American way.

There is the obvious allure that it will actually be in Spanish! While I agree that beauty be separated, I like to read in Spanish. Additionally, I am thrilled to think of the jobs this opens up for bilingual writers in this field.

…and they are unable to incorporate this into the regular Glamour magazine because?! Print editorials are a dying breed regardless of the demographic.

The term hispanic is problematic, most of us prefer to be identified as latin@. I completely agree with the fact that they always like to seperate Latinos and black culture. When in reality many of us grow up together and experience the same issues of racism in this country. I grew up in a latino and black community and I am very proud of that. Also we need to keep note of the fact that all Latin American countries have a history of indigenous and black mixing, which is never represented in magazines like these…or in history in general. “Latin beauty” is always represented as being white or mixed, when there are dark skinned and indigenous beauties that make up a large majority of the Americas. Alas, I guess mainstream media will never portray these ideals.
