• I hope you enjoyed Fashion’s Night Out last September, because it’s not happening this year– at least not in the US. The nation-wide shopping, drinking, and celebrity sighting nuisance event is taking a hiatus for 2013. WWD says, “it was debatable whether FNO actually brought in additional sales for participating retailers.” Apparently, the event was getting too expensive for stores, and was attracting more boozehounds trying to catch a glimpse of Kim Kardashian, than wealthy drunks looking to purchase their wares at full-price. The CFDA, Vogue, and NYC & Co. made a joint decision to shut down the whole operation “so retailers and designers can focus their budgets on projects that are more in line with their specific objectives, rather than a big event on one night in September. ” Bombers, will you miss FNO? (WWD)

• Solange Knowles adorably poses with producer Devonté Hynes for V magazine’s “Two of a Kind” spread. What do you think of the shot? (Styleite)

• Carine Roitfeld‘s already-amazing second issue of C.R. Fashionbook is made more flawless with an appearance from Mob Wives’s Big Ang. The reality star was tapped to pose alongside the fearsomely beautiful Irina Shayk and Alessandra Ambrosio for a Miami Beach-themed spread in the issue. Ms. Roitfeld said the shoot was all photographer Bruce Weber‘s idea: “Bruce loves the idea of special people, and you discover that OK, Big Ang has big breasts, but she has such a big heart and is such a great person. We had everyone dancing together in Miami, and it was such a great day. Everyone had a crush on Big Ang! She looked hot, and she’s such a nice person. And you know, it’s good to have a different vision of fashion than just to be a very beautiful, skinny girl.” Please peep the lead image, and tell me you don’t want to jump into that picture! (Adweek)
• A$AP Rocky may be one of the few celebrities left with no intention to bastardize the fine art of fashion design launch a clothing line. The Jil Sander-clad (I know, how hot is that?) rapper expressed his emphatic aversion to the notion in an interview with Mr. Porter, telling them, “I don’t want to [launch a line]. It would be disrespectful to take my stardom and bully my way into the fashion industry, because I didn’t go to [fashion] school to learn about design, sketching and fabrics. I just enjoy it; I’m a consumer.” Mom, I think I just fell in love with a rapper. (Mr. Porter)
• If you’ve got the coins and an obsession with designer garments, then March is your month. The Ebony Fashion Fair Show is auctioning off some of the garments in their arsenal on Tuesday, March 19th. On the roster are pieces from designers like Christian Dior, Bill Blass, YSL, Carolina Herrera, and so many more. Check out the auction online at www.lesliehindman.com. (Fashion Bomb Inbox)
• Chanel has tapped none other than Tilda Swinton as the face of their couture collection. Karl Lagerfeld, who (naturally) lensed the campaign, says they chose Swinton because she is “a modern woman, a timeless icon of elegance.” Can’t argue with that! (WWD)

Yes ASAP, perfect answer I wish others would take note! As for FNO, I’m not surprised as the stores don’t put anything on sale it’s just free watered down drinks & ppl watching

Thank God A$AP speaks the truth. We are so over run with trash celeb lines that are piss poor when people with real talent arent getting their shine.
Not sad to see FNO go. It has become a circus to go to a store that I can normally walk in with no problems any other time. Heck I dont even think companies were bring in real coins for this night they spend thousands on for Celebs, free food and performance. They need to scale back and find what works for their company to keep their consumers shopping.

I’ve never attended FNO, and always thought it was a waste of time. I’m glad everyone else is on the same page.
Solo & Dev look amazing in the V Mag photo. I really like their partnership, and can’t wait to see them in Denton!
I love the fact that Rakim understands the art behind designing and is ok with being an admirer of that art. This is a man who truly understands what fashion is about.
I love the CR spread. Great concept, and photography!
Random but am I the only one ready for the next phase of Chanel? Don’t get me wrong I love Tilda (especially in Haider Ackermann), but I’m ready for Kaiser Karl to kick off his shoes and relax his feet, party on down with the retirement beat. Really.
I would love a piece from the Fashion Fair arsenal!

DEAD @ “was attracting more boozehounds trying to catch a glimpse of Kim Kardashian, than wealthy drunks looking to purchase their wares at full-price”
The shade of it all. I’m done.

I’ve never been to FNO but I’ve always desired to go. I’m a little disappointed that it’s cancelled.
Big Ang is beautiful and I love her. I’m really excited to see her in CR Fashion Book. However, this is hardly breaking news. I knew from other fashion blogs weeks ago she was appearing in the magazine.
A celebrity actually turns down the opportunity to design a clothing line. Thank you, Jesus!
I love Azealia Banks but maybe she should stick to mean mugging in photographs because clearly smiling isn’t working for her.
Solange looks beautiful.

I’m not disappointed in the FNO not happening this year. The first year when it started here in NY was cool but last year, it was whack…it just didn’t have the feel of the 1st one…
Love me some BIG ANG!!!

I love Solange. Great shot. A$AP SPEAK THE TRUTH!! This needs to be a National PSA! Perfect response, I love it!! Let’s leave fashion for those who’s craft it is. Now if only all other ‘celebs’ would take note.
