Roberto Cavalli has emerged as a true prints mix master, and his Fall 2013 collection for Just Cavalli was no exception. Taking inspiration from Asia, Cavalli decorated close fit frocks, chic skirts, and fur trimmed parkas with golden pagodas, crimson dragons, ombre tiger stripes, gilded baroque flourishes, and blue tinged florals, creating a flurry of eye catching patterns that will undoubtedly be beloved by brand devotees.
Vibrant prints coalesced on velvet jackets and fly away pleated skirts, anchored by python or pony skin boots and multicolored bags.
For those committed to Cavalli’s signature leopard and snake skin penchants, the designer provided plush embroidered coats anchored by slim pencil skirts, and mini dresses tied with fringed sashes.
PETA will certainly have a problem with the outerwear (apparently an anti fur protester interrupted the show)!. Colorblocked fur toppers mixing white and blue appeared, as did bombers with fantastically tufted hoods.
The gilded, baroque infused predilections of season’s past are still apparent via close fit velvet pants and car coats.
I immediately thought of Just Cavalli fans Solange Knowles or Rita Ora when reviewing this collection. I could see either ‘it girl’ in any of the collection’s most eye catching, graphic suits or dresses.
I love bright colors and prints, so this collection was nothing less than droolworthy.
What do you think?
