Until now, Tom Ford has been limiting his collection viewings to small gatherings and presentations for the fashion elite. With Fall 2013, he branches out a bit to stage a runway collection for the brand — still virtually impossible to be invited to, but a little more in the Fashion Week vein with a catwalk and images readily available for public consumption hours later. The offerings are as decadent and showstopping as all of his other designs thus far, chock full of intense prints, cozy furs, and red carpet-ready evening wear. With nothing held back, Ford shows us all (and every designer for that matter) what it means to do a runway show that is seamless from start to finish.
The bomber trend is here to stay ladies, so keep your Spring 2013 jackets close at hand for Fall. In colorful floral beading, embellished zigzag patterns playing on the classic color palette of black and white, and hot pink fur, there is no way the Tom Ford woman will be missed for the season: as if she wasn’t the center of attention already. The athletic-inspired pieces get an added dose of ferocity when paired with zebra print ankle-wrap sandals.
Ford has always had a predilection for lace and he offsets the fabric with fur-trimmed pencil skirts, colorful embellished over-the-knee boots, hoodies gone glam with metallic beading, and so much more.
Fur is as sumptuous and eye-catching as it gets from a cropped leather coat with peplum detailing to a pink, black, and white stripe and chevron number that is sure to stop traffic in the streets of any city.
Some of my favorite looks in the collection belong to the night: floor-length gowns in prints and embellishment that can win Academy Awards for “Best Costume” all on their own. I have a feeling that Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez already have their sights set on a couple of the sheer numbers.
What do you think?

Interesting. On the runway, I’m feeling the footwear, but I’d like to see this translated in the real world.

A lot of statement clothes. To the point where it’s all about the outfit and not the person wearing it (see: B/W “peacock feather” design)

Started to “like” the looks more as I scrolled down. I love the shoes but have flat wide feet and can never fit them into a pair of his shoes. Will continue to adore from afar. :-(
