Zac Posen always brings glamour to Fashion Week, and his Fall 2013 collection encapsulates what he does best: red carpet-ready gowns fit for the finest ladies in Tinseltown. That isn’t all the designer is offering: peplum, coats, and even a few pairs of trousers are on display, giving the ball and movie premiere-attending women who love the brand things to wear by day.
The palette is quintessentially autumnal, save for a few pops of color. Textures are mixed quite heavily with fur and velvet dominating, though in the daintiest sense of the word.
Posen plays quite a bit with peplum on a long-sleeve boatneck dragon embroidered blouse, tweed jackets, and more.
The dresses and gowns are particularly stunning, in true Posen fashion. A chocolate seamed number meets at the crossroads of elegance and simplicity.
My favorite looks are a pink strapless duchesse satin gown with a contrast pleated asymmetric skirt and a burgundy off-the-shoulder style: either of which I would love to see Sofia Vergara or Kerry Washington try on for size.
