New York Fashion Week starts tomorrow, and some of the world’s most stylish citizens will descend upon Lincoln Center to take in the shows. Whether you’re gracing the front row or just attending a slew of networking events, Joy Adaeze of JoyLovesFashion.com has devised a few fly outfits to get you through.
She writes, “Yes, it’s that time again: New York Fashion Week! Get ready for days full of shows, street style snaps and celeb sightings. You’ve gotta have a wardrobe that keeps up! And with all epic events such as this, its always best to plan ahead! Here are some ideas.”
“This look packs major punch. For a fun color combo, I paired a cobalt blue leather jacket like this one from Jason Wu with a $86 baroque print black and white bodycon Lipsy dress. (You can buy this exact version here. They’ve got tons of sizes!!). These sleek Saint Laurent Paris ankle boots look amazing with opaque black tights, (not to mention you’ll be nice and warm). A white Chanel purse adds glam and creates a cool contrast on the blue leather. Fashion week is the perfect time to have fun with accessories. Try this Alkemie deco cuff, and if you feel like splurging, adorable Pippo Perry diamond penguin studs. A bold pink lip later and it’s a go!”
“What better time to rock a leather bodycon dress than NYFW? For this look, I played with neutrals and bold reds to create a subtle and sexy ensemble. I paired a The Row leather frock with a tailored trench, and then added sleek Christian Louboutin Pigalles.”
“A vibrant Lulu Guinness lipstick envelope clutch serves as wow factor, while white shades add simplicity. A red lip and dramatic cat eye finish this off flawlessly. (Bonus: I added lower priced options for every item!)”
“I love a jumpsuit paired with a fur vest! It’s effortlessly chic. Here, I layered a Rachel Zoe faux fur vest over a slouchy black jumpsuit. These $255 3.1 Phillip Lim booties give the look a sporty feel and a purple Givenchy Antigona clutch adds a nice pop.”
“I’m in love with these bug earrings from ASOS. They’re a steal at $21! I’m also really into this ASOS cuff and bangle set, also $21. Light pink shades, like these from Nasty Gal, add a ‘lil sweetness to the mix. A hint of pink gloss and you’re set! “
“A day of fashion week is usually an all-day affair. When planning looks for the week, it’s wise to throw in a couple of casually-chic options. For this last look, I paired a Tibi leather peplum top with distressed jeans and tall Gucci studded boots.”

These are all cute
but sadly, after three (going on four) seasons of NYFW, I have stopped dressing up. Waaay too lazy for that now.
But I don’t think anyone here would be surprised to hear that.
