Show Review: Emilio Pucci Pre-Fall 2013

Peter Dundas does sexy and sultry like no one else and his latest Pre-Fall 2013 collection for Emilio Pucci features enough bare gams and form-fitting dresses to solidify his place at the top of the red carpet wear totem pole (though that isn’t all he is serving up). Taking inspiration from Mia Farrow in her ’60s heyday, the designs aren’t full-on vixen: there are enough Fall-perfect coats and jackets, functional sheath dresses, and expertly-tailored trousers to please even the most conservative dame.

There’s no shortage of jackets here: in fact Dundas provides a surplus. From leopard print biker styles to beaded blazers, your simple t-shirts, trousers, and denim are going to get an uplift for the season when paired with these beauties.

Pucci is known for its prints and they play on the tiniest of mini dresses, jumpsuits, and a long sheer gown that can work on vacation or for a movie premiere with the right undergarments.

I guess we should discuss red carpet looks, since the collection is saturated with them. Two-tone numbers that demand toned legs, form-fitting gowns in jewel tones, flirty ’60s-inspired frocks: Zoe Saldana, Rita Ora, Khloe Kardashian and others will not have to look much farther than these designs. I must admit: they’re strikingly beautiful even when completely simple.

Thoughts on Emilio Pucci’s latest collection?
