The beautiful Amber Riley took to the stage at the Inaugural Ball in Washington D.C. in a $795 Theia Strapless Silk Organza Gown:

Her strapless gown features layers of ruffled silk organza, a sweetheart neckline, and a ruched bodice.
The dress is absolutely stunning, but I don’t think it does much for Amber’s figure.
What do you think? Hot! or Hmm…?

After overcoming the shock of only reading “Amber”, scrolled down & frowned wondering what the heck has Amber Rose done to herself………….I like the dress but it’s not the most figure flattering on her.

I love Amber but this dress was NOT made for her IMO

I would have to agree with t-fal here. The ruffles are so not flattering for her figure. Everything else from her hair to make-up were beatiful. But the dress clearly is a FAIL!

its a pretty gown. but amber its time for weight watchers. u are too cute too young too rich to be overweight. no just no.
January 22, 2013 2:58 pm
Here we go. Damned if you do damned if you dont. Amber looks amazing!! Love the dress and cute EVERYTHING!
January 22, 2013 3:02 pm
Hmmmm. I want to love it, but I don’t. Why isn’t someone stepping up and designing fabulous gowns for plus size women? Do the stylists not have access? What’s the problem?

She looks like she gained back the weight she lost, but lovely girl nonetheless. Not a fan of the dress on her though…at all.
January 22, 2013 3:29 pm
i think amber looks nice, but it is time indeed @ smv.
January 22, 2013 3:35 pm
She looks nice but it could’ve been better if the ruffles in the body had beed removed and just started at the bottom.
January 22, 2013 3:36 pm
I have a feeling that the dress looks way better from the front. I like it
January 22, 2013 4:05 pm
Wow. FBD fans have a problem with plus sized ladies. People get over yourselves.
January 22, 2013 4:21 pm
The style of this dress, doesn’t work on her lovely frame. I hate these overweight comments folks are making, damn !
January 22, 2013 5:45 pm
not good for a big girl
January 22, 2013 6:34 pm
I hate it ..I really do
January 22, 2013 7:37 pm
that’s a fashion disaster!
January 22, 2013 7:52 pm
First off…take the weight out of it. This dreadful, dead color looks more suitable for ‘Broomhilda’ from Django than it does for amber. She is too young to carry this color. …now..we can spend all day debating on how beautiful she still is besides get weight..but lets be honest..she IS overweight. She needs to lose weight. Period. Naturally black women are thick BLAH BLAH BLAH. I’d bet everything I have that she does not eat healthy. This dress is NOT complimenting of her Frame. It actually is not a nice looking dress period. …sighs..she needs a new stylist immediately this is…out

She doesn’t look bad but it isn’t the most flattering patterns for larger women. I think if the ruffles would have been subtle around the torso or removed all together and started at the bottom as mentions than the dress would have looked great on her.
January 22, 2013 9:42 pm
I hate when big girls like her wear strap-less gowns…Amber go lose some weight!
January 22, 2013 10:31 pm
This dress is all wrong for her shape but then again it doesn’t really do much for the model either.
January 22, 2013 11:58 pm
i agree with enigma! i hate the ruffles all over look, whether she is a size 4 or 14 it screams prom to me. and i dont think she needs to lose weight. as long as she is healthy and happy whats the problem? some people are happy in their skin, unlike the ones that are telling them to change.. food for thought

Nice dress the colour is great on her but the dress does nothingfor her.

A mermaid gown CAN work on a full figured woman (give that she has the right proportions). This dress is a litle matronly and drab for her fresh face. The ruffles across the mid section makes her look wide, working against the ruching. She looks like a the principle at the high school prom making sure no one spikes the punch
