Stars kept the inauguration parties going and BET helped by throwing its very own Inaugural Ball at the Smithsonian American Art Museum & National Portrait Gallery. The ladies and gents slipped into their finest for the occasion to celebrate President Barack Obama’s second term.
Let’s see how the night’s looks measured up!
Gabrielle Union looked like royalty at the ball in a purple asymmetric neckline gown. Hot!
Kenya Moore was definitely “gone with the wind fabulous” in a white strapless gown. One of my favorite looks of the night!
Tyson Beckford has been going bold of late hasn’t he? He wore a black and silver printed tuxedo jacket, white ruffle shirt, and a red pocket square.
Red lips gave a pop of color to Rocsi Diaz’s muted lace gown.
Boris Kodjoe was the best-dressed man of the night in a simple black and white tux. I mean seriously: why is he so handsome?
His wife, Nicole Ari Parker, opted for luscious curls and BCBGMAXAZRIA’s Anna Gown.
All-black was the move for Tatyana Ali in a cap-sleeve number with a plunging v-neckline. A little drab no?
Hosea Sanchez’s tailoring was on point, but I’m a little confused as to why he didn’t just throw on a matching ensemble and make it easy for himself!
I think AJ Calloway needs to get in touch with Hosea’s tailor…his suit was great, but needed a bit of fixing.
Shaun Robinson opted for a one-shoulder black and gold gown for the night.
Kenny Lattimore showed the guys how it was done in black and white.
Pinstripes and not so flattering colorblocking rounded out Jermaine Dupri’s look. It’s nice to see him out and about, but I’m not sure what’s going on with all of these conflicting hues!
Of course BET Networks Chairman and CEO Debra Lee wouldn’t miss the party! She was on-trend in a burgundy velvet gown.
Bridget Kelly mixed textures at the ball in black and olive. I would have loved to see her opt for a more glamorous look: this is a little too casual for the occasion.
Wilmer Valderrama looked a little stoic, but I think his suit was just fine!
A one-shoulder draped dress and black patent ankle-strap pumps were spotted on MC Lyte who looked great! I loved her red lips which uplifted her simple, yet polished ensemble.
Last, but not least was the graceful Mikki Taylor who was the lady in red in a strapless fan bodice gown. I live for her elegance and other worldly beauty knowledge!

SB: if BET had an inaugural ball, why wasn’t it shown last night? or any inaugural programming for that matter? Still trying to understand why they were showing roots all day lol

Tatyana looks like she’s wearing a summer dress… JD pants look too short, and his tie is disheveled.
I want Shaun to get a new hairstyle so sick of it! Rocsi’s dress is matronly. Kenya looks gorgeous !

Does Rocsi ever smile? Lol. She alway looks unhappy. Nicole curls are too blunt looking. Layers would have been better. Other than that, I liked everyone’s look.
