Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day everyone!
It’s a momentous occasion, considering it’s also Inauguration Day. I’m writing away, but I’m still excited!
It seems that D.C. was the place to be this weekend and everyone was in our Nation’s capital from our flawless President and First Lady to your favorite rappers.
Let’s get into this weekend’s looks!
At the U.S. Presidential Inaugural Reception, President and First Lady Obama looked amazing, as they’ve been known to do. For the occasion, FLOTUS shined in a black sequin Michael Kors boat neck dress.
The who’s who of the entertainment and music worlds were at The Hip Hop Inaugural Ball, which actually looked like loads of fun! Rosario Dawson chose a one-shoulder embellished gown for the night. Hot!
Angela Simmons gave all kinds of fierce in a long-sleeve Devushka sequin gown with a contrast collar and cuffs and keyhole detailing. Her hair and makeup? Flawless. The exposed bra? Hmm…the piece surely could have been tailored to close the keyhole a bit and still expose some skin no?
Va-va voom was on the menu for LaLa Anthony who worked a vintage Lillie Rubin embellished gown. Gorgeous!
2 Chainz looked pretty dapper in a tux, that was expertly-tailored might I add. Wouldn’t you rather see him in suits instead of drowning in chain print? Just a suggestion…
The guys definitely looked great! Lance Gross was another one who received an A+ in the style department. Simplicity and great tailoring are all you need fellas!
A beautiful off-the-shoulder vermilion gown with tie-detailing and a thigh-high slit was Chrissy Teigen’s choice.
Chrissy’s fiancé John Legend represented for the men in a black tux. Hey John!
MC Lyte gave elegance in all-black with red lips for a pop of color.
Clearly, embellishment was a big trend for the ball as Marsha Ambrosious opted for it in a long-sleeve paillette adorned dress. This is the best she has ever looked!
Though I wasn’t a huge fan of the color of Victor Cruz’s suit, his fiancée Elaina Watley looked gorgeous in a long-sleeve draped gown.
It amazed me to see two of the world’s most beautiful people look so completely foolish, but somehow Tyson Beckford and Shanina Shaik achieved that impossible feat! Her gown is beautiful, but the belt doesn’t do a thing for it. Don’t even get me started on his blazer…
Last, but not least at the ball was Swizz Beatz who did some colorblocking in grey, blue, and black. I like it!
Onto other celeb sightings…Kerry Washington was Winter-perfect at the The Daily Beast Bi-Partisan Inauguration Brunch in Washington D.C. in a crimson and black cashgora shift dress with black plonge leather cap sleeves from Michael Kors’s Fall 2012 collection.
At GOOGLE, ELLE, and The Center for American Progress’s Celebration for Leading Women in Washington, Taraji P. Henson showed some skin in a $175 McQ by Alexander McQueen Open Knit Paneled Stretch Top, an Etro printed pencil skirt, and black pumps. There’s a lot going on here…I’m also on the fence about wearing such a sexy top to an event such as this one.
Scott Disick, Kanye West, and actress Noomi Rapace took in the Givenchy Fall 2013 Men’s Show in Paris from nowhere but the front row.
Eva Longoria was impossibly glamorous at the Latino Inaugural 2013 Event at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. How gorgeous is her Vivienne Westwood Couture gown?
How many celebs have worn Dolce & Gabbana lace dresses in the past five months? Well Jennifer Lopez added to the long list in a blush pink tie-waist number from the brand and a pair of $1,495 Christian Louboutin Picks and Co Potpourri Spiked Pumps. Cute!
Rita Ora and bff Cara Delevingne exited the Groucho Club in London in leather and gold accents. I’m definitely feeling Rita’s sunglasses, $825 Alexander Wang Lace Up Leather Boots, and Cara’s earrings.
At the Khroma Beauty Kardazzle Makeup Palette Launch at the Kardashian Khaos (the number of ks is getting out of control) boutique in Las Vegas, Kourtney Kardashian looked simple and chic in a long-sleeve shift dress and thigh-high leather boots.
On Wetten, dass..? in Germany, Leona Lewis showed off her curves in a long-sleeve lace and peplum dress. Work Leona!
Kat Graham channeled “glam chola” while leaving the E! Studios in LA with her boyfriend.
One of my favorite looks of the weekend belonged to Deepika Padukone who was unbelievably sexy in Isabel Marant at the press meeting for her new film, Race 2, in Mumbai.
Rounding out the week was Alesha Dixon who looked fab despite the inclement weather at the Britain’s Got Talent Auditions in London. She wore a $1,986 Alexander McQueen Leaf Crepe Jacket, matching $875 Leaf Crepe Bootcut Trousers from the brand, and a pair of $349 Kurt Geiger Elliott Pumps.

2 chainz looked nice,lance gross looked delicious;),tyson beckford and his gf looked like fools(both of em look 2 good to step out the house looking like that),Leona Lewis is getting fat. She’s beautiful but she needs to lose weight.Idk how I feel about Rita Ora’s glasses. That outfit was a hmmm,even though I actually like her. Saving the best for last. Mr. and Mrs. Obama(aka Flotus;). They looked like class as always. Happy MLK,Jr Day as well! I believe his spirit is lingering all over todays festivities.

This is how you do it Alesha!!! (Dixon). The look is so flaterring to her tall lean shape. The suit does the talking, so I love how she keeps her accesories and hair simple.
Rosario looks lovely and event appropriate, not like La la and Ms Simmons, who made me drop my head with disapointment. Selah.
I wish Tahaji would have clashed prints and not textures, because it doesn’t work. Not for me anyway.
