The 2013 Inauguration got an extra dose of glamour today, thanks to Hip-Hop’s first couple, Beyonce and Jay-Z. The twosome attended the festivities in DC with Jay-Z in a dapper Tom Ford suit and Hermès scarf, and Beyonce in an Emilio Pucci black velvet and chiffon beaded cutout long-sleeved gown and Christian Dior Fur Coat:
She completed with Lorraine Schwartz Emeralds.

Her dress is a custom creation, but picks up on the velvet and beaded details found in Pucci’s Pre-Fall 2013 collection. Take a look at a similar gown:

I’ll risk the wrath of the stans and ponder out loud…why Beyonce is wearing a floor length gown to the inauguration, not a ball, but THE inauguration? She looks flawless, but this gets a hmm from me for appropriate-ness reasons. Kind of like the Jessica Rabbitesque gown she wore to the state dinner.

Love the dress but as others said it didn’t fit the occasion/time. Her and Jay look like they are at two seperate occasion (and Jay looks hot and dapper…get it Mr. Carter!) Bey should have opted for a knee length version.

Not that I’m a stan…but in this case…
She’s Beyonce, she’s supposed to be over the top – that’s why she’s ON top. I wanted to find a flaw – because I am so over the Carter’s and the Obama’s bff’ness – but I couldn’t.
She looked absolutely amazing and I LOVE the green jewels. Her rendition of the Star Spangled Banner was beautiful as well.

Stars glow in the day or night. She was polished, professional, she knew where to walk, how to greet and played the role as the diva that she is. She was beautiful without having to wear the usual video outfit.Her dress was dressy but tasteful (mosdest for her standards) and for such a memorable moment as that one B hit the stage, took off her coat and withstood the cold weather. That’s showmanship!

I saw Jay Z live at Morgan homecoming years ago, people who weren’t there would not believe me when I said he was fine as hell in person, skin was glowing, great smile- it was crazy. These pics tell a similar story: he looks amazing!

I think Beyonce’s dress was pretty and so was her fur coat. However, the dress, earrings, and coat should have been “understated” for an Inauguration. The event was not a concert, it was a “ceremony”. Therefore, she should have asked someone who knows how to appropriately style women for these kind of events. Her outfit should have been “street length dress or suit, small earrings, and a “cloth coat.” That would be elegance for the Inauguration of a President. Try again, Beyonce!
