The countdown begins to Fashion Week and the Fashion Bomb will certainly be on the scene. I’m dedicating this weekend to buying all those pesky plane tickets, but before I get to that…Mail Bombs!
First up, Maria types, “I am looking to find out where Alesha Dixon’s Hot Pink dress is from, she wore it for BGT auditions Day 2.”
“… Its pied piper design, white collar, white cuffs and swing skirt. Stunning!! Have scowered the net but cannot find it. Please help!! Would be perfect for my friends wedding in April 2012.”
A quick search found that Alesha was styled in turquoise Mascaró slingback pumps and a hot pink contrast collar dress from Paule Ka’s Pre-Spring 2013 collection:
I wasn’t able to find her dress for sale at PaulaKa.com, though perhaps they can help if you get in touch. Contact them here.
Trevor writes, “I was wondering f you could help me find this jacket that Big Boi has on….”
“Thanks sooo much and continue giving us more and more inspiration with your blog.”
Of course! Like Keri Hilson, Big Boi is a fan of Viktor Luna’s Spring 2013 collection, and posed on Instagram in a printed trench by the burgeoning designer:
I’m loving Viktor’s designs, aren’t you? At any rate, inquire about Big Boi’s look at ViktorLuna.com.
Next, Selina writes, “I MUST know where to get this swimsuit worn by Ludacris’s girlfriend Eudoxie!”
“… I’ve looked EVERYWHERE with no luck. PLEASE HELP!!”
Though Eudoxie is known to have expensive taste, her swimsuit looks a lot like this Nylon Tricot High Cut One Piece from American Apparel:
Get it for $30 here.
In another swimsuit Mail Bomb, Simone writes, “I saw the attached picture on a party flyer that Draya posted on IG. I am dying to know the designer (and the cost) of this swimsuit set. I so want one!”
A Diva State of Mind wrote in with the scoop, saying, “The swimsuit is a Keva by Keva J design.” She’s right!
Get yours for $186 here.
In a wardrobe query, Frenchie says, “You’ve featured several fashion bombs and celebrities wearing gorgeous African prints. You’ve also featured several designers, African and international, who have lines that feature traditional African print with a modern twist! I was wondering if you could point me to a site or designer where I can snag some pencil skirts or nice tops with a traditional print that won’t break the bank! I’d love to incorporate this into my wardrobe like Solange has!”
We have indeed written about a slew of young designers who use traditional African prints with contemporary silhouettes. A few that come to mind are Boxing Kitten (see their lookbook here)…
… Busayo (see their lookbook here)…
And Loud Culture (see our coverage here):
See more in our Indie Designer category. There’s a lot to see!
Now for Unsolved Mail Bombs!
A lot of you were interested in Tahiry from Love & Hip Hop’s sunglasses! Marlena wrote, “It has been my mission to find out the designer. Please help me, Fashion Bomb Fam!”
Lastly, Mia says, “Hey FBD Ladies! I was hoping you could help me with a particularly plaguing bomb. In Tami Roman’s new NV Clinical Weight Loss commercial (link to commercial here), she’s rocking these killer black heels with a gold metallic platform and a chunky red heel.”
“… I’ve actually seen these a few times but I haven’t been able to track them down anywhere! You’d make my 2013 more fabulous if you could find ’em for me! Thanks ladies!”
The almond shaped island platform is a Charlotte Olympia signature…
But Olympia pumps tend to have a stiletto heel. I think Tami may be wearing a Charlotte Olympia ‘inspired’ heel…and those could be from anywhere!
If you know, leave a comment!
Stay tuned for today’s Bombshell and much, much more.
*Update: Apparently Tahiry’s sunglasses are Fendi, though we still haven’t located a style number. And Tammy’s shoes are from Zara, but are long sold out.
