Everyone is going menswear-inspired for Pre-Fall 2013: even Giambattista Valli. Though known for his quintessentially feminine designs, he skewing a bit more masculine this season. Well, in a very polished and Parisian way of course. Animal print and fur have a moment (as they do in most Valli collections) and though the couturier does red carpet-ready, head-turning pieces better than most, he really pulls back here to create functional, yet still impossibly luxurious styles that will leave his legion of “It” girls with a whole new array of sartorial beauties to covet.
Let’s talk outerwear. Cozy wool coats, printed bomber jackets, knee-length furs for the ladies who lunch and love Valli: be prepared to standout this season. My favorite piece is a two-tone black and white creation that features embellished cuffs with feather detailing. I mean really, what is more glamorous than that?
You know Valli loves animal prints and they are in abundance from head-to-toe.
The collection isn’t full of as many red carpet styles as I would have liked, but I’m sure Zoe Saldana, Alicia Keys, and Jessica Alba will find a few designs that can work for their upcoming events.
Are you feeling Giambattista Valli’s latest collection?
