Happy Thursday!
Last night I was invited by Clear Haircare to a Trey Songz, Elle Varner, and Miguel concert at Madison Square Garden! Before Trey’s set, I was offered the opportunity to pop backstage to chat with Elle Varner. Of course I had to talk fashion and beauty!
Clad in Burberry leggings, a Rag & Bone blazer, and a Dolce & Gabbana lace bra, she said, “Some of my favorite designers are Cynthia Rowley, Stella McCartney, Patricia Field, and Betsey Johnson. I’ve fallen in love with their clothes enough times to say, ‘I’m with you. I get you. You get me. And I get you.’”
She continued, “My personal style is eccentric, but it still makes sense…it’s bold [and] girly.”
Her best asset? She laughed, “My ass!” Which brings us to the multicolored Ashish dress she wore to the 2012 BET Awards.
She said, “That was my favorite red carpet outfit. It was such a beautiful dress and it didn’t have to show any skin to be sexy.”
Meow! And I had to ask her about her hair and beauty regimen! She said, “[I'm very] get up and go. [With my hair], I use a diffuser and it dries quicker. The best way is to let it air dry. Sometimes I individually curl pieces of my hair to make it look more dramatic.”
And in terms of makeup, Elle is low maintenance, saying, “My biggest thing is tinted moisturizer and mascara. I don’t like to wear makeup if I don’t have to. Give me a clean slate, maybe a little lip and I’m good!”

She’s adorable- I love Elle- her music is incredible- her style is cute- she’s not trying to be anything she’s not- she exudes confidence and is very true to herself ;)

Funny story. I was walking to the train yesterday in BK and I saw this girl that looked like Elle Varner. I was listening to her album all weekend so I thought I musta been Elle Varnered out. But when she turned her head to seemingly avoid recognition, I was even more convinced that it was her. Now that I see the pic with the glasses, I’m either even more sure or going even crazier lol.
Her style is cute tho! Not my taste per say but looks like she marches to the beat of her own drum. I can digg.

“Ain’t no one checking for Elle Varner period”..speak for yourself I ran her album in the ground and appreciate her quirky sense of style its refreshing and not the same boring uniform of a tailored blazer, fitted skirt and red bottoms. Thank you for featuring her Claire!
