It’s sample sale season my friends, and everyone from Nordstrom to Alexander Wang to Helmut Lang (!) is discounting their duds. I’m about to head into the city to do some damage before our Fashion Bomb Staff Dinner tonight (stay tuned for pix on Intagram @FashionBombDaily). But first, let’s solve a slew of Mail Bombs!
A lot of you were more interested in Sasha and Malia Obama’s Election Day outfits than you were in The First Lady’s Michael Kors look:
Shelly wrote, “They all looked SO beautiful last night. Any details on Sasha’s outfit and shoes? I’m loving that green and she looks about my size.” KBS typed, “Can I get some deets on Malia’s skirt?” Nikki added, “I was wondering if you know what the first daughters wore on election night. They looked so stylish!”
Like their mom, the girls kept it modest, with Malia in what’s been widely reported to be a J.Crew silk organza skirt (similar to this) and Sasha in a sweet emerald skirt from Chris Benz’s Spring 2010 Collection (previously worn by her sister).
Both girls apparently wore J.Crew flats. Recreate both of their looks with these pieces:
Next up, Shane types, “Please help me find the outfits on Adrienne and Julissa. They posted this on their Instagram and I’m dying to know where I can find Julissa’s skirt? Thank you fashion bomb!”
Yep! As we reported here, Adrienne wore an A.L.C Cullen Colorblock Dress.
As for Julissa, she belted a $148 Modie Crochet-Fringe Skirt from BCBG Max Azria:

In an e-mail titled, “Short Girl Problems”, Ayonna says, “I see that knee high boots and oversized sweaters are a big trend now, but how do I pull these trends off being a mere 5ft without looking weighed down? Thank You.”
Hey! Not every trend is made for every body type! But as with everything, it’s all about balance. If you’re going to wear an oversized sweater, pair it with close fit pants and pumps.
If you must wear thigh high boots, try rocking it with a mini or, again, with close fit pants and a tunic or a hip length jacket.
There’s always a way to finesse something! If you ever have doubts, hop on Google and find celebs with similar body types to yours. See how they play with proportions and go from there!

Loves a fabulous hand me downs! Gotta love the Obama’s for showing that outfits can be worn again and again even in the facebook, Twitter and Instagram age when no one wants to be seen in the same garment twice! Please…
