Like Prabal Gurung for Target, and Maison Martin Margiela for H&M, prints master Duro Olowu is jumping on the diffusion train, creating a lower priced line for mass market retailer, J.C. Penney:
Forget about those $1,000 price tags! The Nigerian-British designer will be offering separates, accessories, and home goods for $10-$100.
The designer told Fashionologie, “I treated it like a collection. All the details you normally find on my clothing, you have here.”
This is more than exciting, as I’m a superfan of Olowu’s vibrant colors and playful patterns! Keep an eye peeled for the collection in J.C. Penney stores and online March 2013.

What do you think of this collaboration? Will you be buying?

I just really hope the QUALITY translates to this line. Sometimes, with the lower price point lines, the aesthetics are there, but not the quality.
October 31, 2012 12:42 am
Yes! All over this! JCP is often slept on, but some of their clothing and accessories are still fashionable and decent. Like MsNomer said I just really really hope the quality is there! If so, I’ll def be getting my FLOTUS on with some Duro I can actually afford.

I got 9 pieces from the JCP line and love them all. Duro has a refreshing and bold fashion point of view, there is nothing quite like it in mass retail. I can’t wait to enjoy these distinctive and versatile pieces. So many possible ways to incorporate them to my wardrop. Thank you, for the smart prints.
