Jihan gave us a taste of Narciso Rodriguez for Kohl’s DesigNation back in June, but we haven’t had the chance to take a look at the full collection. The Cuban-American fashion phenom took to the streets of Istanbul for inspiration and the influence is evident in the collection’s vibrant shades, mixed textures, and East-meets-West silhouettes:
Functionality is key here with many pieces working seamlessly from day to night. Rodriguez’s designs have always been modern and sometimes even minimalist and he continues his signature aesthetic here with boxy tops, form-fitting pencil skirts, oversized menswear-inspired coats, tailored trousers, and more.
There are quite a few trends at play from colorblocking to mixed prints. What I am so impressed by is the fact that Rodriguez never goes on a tangent and forgets his customer: it always comes back to the modern woman and pieces that can really add value to her wardrobe.
Jessica Alba and Zoe Saldana have already worn the collection, so I see it being a big hit for celebrities as well as everyday working women, myself included. With prices ranging from just $30 – $150, how can you go wrong?
You will be able to get your hands on Narciso Rodriguez for Kohl’s DesigNation early next month, so stay tuned to www.kohls.com.
