Happy Monday everyone!
Today we Americans celebrate one of the globe’s first trendsetters, who like many fashion designers today “discovered” something that already existed! The ghost of Columbus past definitely swept through the Big Apple today where we are having our first below 50-degree morning, meaning that sweater and snood season has arrived.
It was a good weekend in celeb style and though a few ladies missed the mark, most kept it cute.
Let’s get into this weekend’s looks shall we?
Halle Berry was on hand at Variety’s 4th Annual Power of Women Luncheon in Beverly Hills in a Roland Mouret LBD from Fall 2005, a pair of $575 Jimmy Choo Anouk Pumps, and her gorgeous fiancé Olivier Martinez as the best arm candy ever. Find a flaw: I’ll wait.
Purple and black lace was the look of the night for Paula Patton who looked absolutely perfect in a modest, but sexy number. Hot!
Tia Mowry-Hardrict also opted for purple and black lace in a strapless dress that showed off her lean figure. Yes Tia! That pixie is also bringing out her amazing bone structure.
Dania Ramirez made a splash in black and red. Loving her dress and her pared-down makeup.
Last, but not least was Queen Latifah who opted for a printed dress and snakeskin pumps at the luncheon.
Rihanna took the stage at Baku Crystal Hall in Azerbaijan in an animal print crop top and skirt by Adam Selman. This is just to deter you from gaining some pounds back for Winter.
At the 2012 Hammer Gala at the Hammer Museum in Westwood, California, Tracee Ellis Ross wore a printed dress with a plunging v-neckline and a pair of black platform pumps. This gets a thumbs up from me!
Keke Palmer let her hair make the statement at the 3rd Annual Dove Self Esteem Weekend in NYC. She is beautiful, but I’m still not feeling this hair color: it totally washes out her radiant complexion! I would love to see her go a bit darker and richer in the coming months, which I think would work wonders.
In Mexico City at Cosmopolitan Magazine’s 40th Anniversary Party, Kim Kardashian wore a white strapless peplum detailed dress from Yves Saint Laurent and her favorite Tom Ford Gold Chain Sandals. Work it Kimmy!
Nelly and Ashanti looked like quite the cute couple at Haze Nightclub in Las Vegas.
Mariah Carey took no prisoners on the set of American Idol in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She served glam in a form-fitting dress and strappy sandals.
Leona Lewis looked like a sexy cake while at the X Factor Results show in London. This fit is totally unflattering on her, but that hair and makeup? Amazing!
Nicole Scherzinger was also in London and partied in a gold strapless mini. Hmm…something about this ensemble is off. Maybe it’s the lipstick that is a bit too dark (though on-trend) and the shoes (which do not belong here), but I cannot cosign this.
At LAX Airport, Will.i.am looked quite polished and tame. I wouldn’t mind having those zipper-detailed skinnies and red loafers in my closet right now!
Jessica Alba grabbed a bite to eat at Spago Restaurant in Beverly Hills with her hubby. She just cannot get enough of her $5,350 Ralph Lauren Leather Davidson Jacket can she? I also like her printed Twenty8Twelve Rex Pants: definitely simple and chic.
Last, but not least was my girl Zhang Ziyi who wore head-to-toe Fendi at the 17th Annual Busan Film Festival in South Korea: the brand’s $2,480 Puff Sleeve Fur Collar Jersey Dress and $790 Fendista Pumps. Hot!

Halle is always killing em, loves that dress, can’t go wrong with black dress.. i like Nicole’s dark lipstick and Tia is too cute with short haircut.

KeKe looks lovely, I’m surprised how much older she looks with the hair color. (I guess that’s what they’re going for with her new album coming out.) She can work it though!

ALL the ladies look beautiful. Ashanti, looks a lot better than usual, but why the shades? I didn’t really care for Leona’s attire but her makeup was flawless and she has GREAT legs!

I love Halle she always look classy, Mariah is wearing what she usually wears but she still looks fab, love her! Are Nelly and Ashanti together? One minute they are and next they’re not. Maybe just friends? …Is it me? Or this outfit for Leona Lewis isn’t working? She is obviously a curvy girl she needs to expose it! She looks older, more like a mommy.

Kim looks like she can’t breathe in that dress. Also, the problem with Halle and that dress is the look is hard to pull off for even the skinniest of minnies. It will highlight tummy that’s not even there.
