Tom Ford has become notoriously private when it comes to revealing his collections. The designer is not a fan of the instant gratification provided by the internet, and instead opts to unveil his offerings in magazines months after they’re privately viewed. This season saw Ford step out of his comfort zone, welcoming us in grand fashion.
The foray harmoniously mixed sex and sport. Hair was pulled up and teased into beehives as models struck sassy poses. The color palette was perfectly in tune with what we’ve been seeing on the Spring 2013 runway, neutrals, and black and whites, that were ultimately punctuated by shades of blue. There were strappy sandals, at times heading as far up as the thigh.
Ford then employed leather, another favorite of the season. A stand out was a bondage inspired leather skirt suit, a look perfectly pegged for a night on the town.
Tom Ford is certainly a favorite of the A-list set. Expect to see Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian, and Rihanna in pieces from this collection. The real question becomes, who will be the first to rock it?
